Women in the Scriptures: MARRIAGE IS DEATH
http://www.womeninthescriptures.com/2014/02/marriage-is-death.html
Pearl of Great Price. Wednesday, February 19, 2014. One night when Jon and I were engaged we were sitting on the couch in my apartment. He was studying out of his human anatomy book and I was working on a paper for my Women's Literature class. In my class we had been discussing archetypes. And had just read the book "She" by Robert A. Johnson. In his book Johnson examines the Greek myth of Psyche and Eros and how those archetypes teach us important lessons about marriage and women's spiritual development.

Women in the Scriptures: Building Solomon's Temple
http://www.womeninthescriptures.com/2015/07/building-solomons-temple-in-my-kitchen.html
Pearl of Great Price. Tuesday, July 14, 2015. I once had a friend post the question, "What is your greatest pet peeve? On her Facebook page. Most of the responses were the type you'd expect- people who don't park straight, people who leave their shopping carts in the parking lot, putting the toilet paper roll on upside down, people who put the eggs back in the carton after cracking them, or in my case sleeping with wrinkles in my sheets. oh I hate that! There are several things that really impress me abo...

Women in the Scriptures: My Children's Names
http://www.womeninthescriptures.com/2013/06/my-childrens-names.html
Pearl of Great Price. Wednesday, June 19, 2013. Fourteen was a hard age for me, my parents relationship was rocky, my mom was sick, and I constantly struggled with feelings of low self-esteem. There were times when I felt completely alone. I can't tell you how many times over the next decade of my life those little spirits would give me strength and help keep my mind focused on what was important. They were my spiritual cheerleaders and with them I never felt alone. So as Jon and I talked about names for...

http://www.womeninthescriptures.com/2015/06/divorce-is-as-hard-as-death.html
Pearl of Great Price. Wednesday, June 3, 2015. Divorce is as Hard as Death. I arrived home to find our house almost completely empty and life as I had known it for twenty years over- just like that. Me and my siblings when I was about 12. I'm the one hiding behind the car on the left. I've been thinking about writing this post for several years now, but have always chickened out. It is still a topic and a wound that is easily re-opened. Yet, I've been feeling strongly that I just needed to acknow...In fa...

Pearl of Great Price. Tuesday, May 19, 2015. My Climb Up Jacobs Ladder. I went to the temple the first time when I was 12, to do baptisms for the dead. I remember walking into the Idaho Falls Temple and being astonished that not everything was white! I remember one night having a heartfelt discussion with my dad about the gospel, particularly about the story of Adam and Eve. The conversation ended with me exclaiming "Dad, I just feel like I am beating my head on a brick wall! Believe in God; believe that...

Women in the Scriptures: My Worth as a Woman is Not Dependent Upon How My Children Behave in Church
http://www.womeninthescriptures.com/2011/02/my-worth-as-woman-is-not-dependent-upon.html
Pearl of Great Price. Monday, February 28, 2011. My Worth as a Woman is Not Dependent Upon How My Children Behave in Church. My three-year-old has been having a tough week. Yesterday was our first day back to church after a week and a half of being sick. I guess a straight week of movies, sore throats, coughs, and grumpy parents took a big toll on him because church yesterday was a roller coaster. Both of my children were out of control again. I sat for a good two hours stewing and wallowing in my misery...
