When my furious ex demanded to know if I called child protective services, I knew I had to lie to protect myself and my children. I'm typically a compulsive teller of the truth. I have trouble with even white lies. So I'm definitely out of practice, but I did my best today. I acted confused and concerned. Hope I did OK. He seemed to buy it. Tuesday, July 14, 2015. Witnessing domestic violence = child abuse. I decided to call child protective services today. Last night I felt so powerless to do anything, but after talking with my therapist I realized that filing a report was an option. She pointed out that exposing children to domestic violence is child abuse. I am very nervous about how my ex will respond when they show up at his front door.
