Top Ten – Steps to Recovery from a Bad Choice « Accepting Responsibility
https://acceptingresponsibility.wordpress.com/2014/08/13/top-ten-steps-to-recovery-from-a-bad-choice
No blame-shifting. No flimsy excuses. Only sincere apologies. Top Ten – Steps to Recovery from a Bad Choice. I make bad choices. I do my best to avoid them, but I make bad choices. My duty then is to accept responsibility for them by admitting them, apologizing to those whom I’ve hurt, and trying to make it right. I hope I can be forgiven by those affected by my mistake. There is a God. I’m not Him. Because I’m not God, I am not perfect. When I make a poor choice, I must accept responsibility for it.

No blame-shifting. No flimsy excuses. Only sincere apologies. Newer posts →. A Call to Christian Men (and to Decent Human Beings). You might remember the blog entry. I wrote, telling women they are not responsible for how men think of them and reminding men that they cannot hide behind the excuse of boys will be boys. I find myself going back to those thoughts now, in the wake of the Isla Vista shooting and the number of articles, tumblr posts, and #yesallwomen tweets I’ve read recently. Less is more and...

No blame-shifting. No flimsy excuses. Only sincere apologies. A Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day. If you’ve had a toddler in your house at any time in the past 40 years you’ve probably heard of Alexander. His terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day is the topic of an award-winning children’s book. Alexander’s mom is right, isn’t she? Let’s say you reacted badly, like Alexander and children often do. Now imagine that your embarrassing, child-like temper tantrum makes national news. And ran it n...
The Laugh Test « Accepting Responsibility
https://acceptingresponsibility.wordpress.com/2014/06/29/the-laugh-test
No blame-shifting. No flimsy excuses. Only sincere apologies. This blog is all about accepting responsibility for our poor choices. And, as the blog’s subtitle indicates, part of accepting responsibility is this: no flimsy excuses. But calling an excuse “flimsy” gives some excuses way too much credit. They don’t pass the laugh test. “He couldn’t actually have said this, right? 8221; Well, yes. Yes, he did. And this is where Suarez failed the laugh test. His explanation to FIFA:. In 1997 Mike Tyson bit of...

No blame-shifting. No flimsy excuses. Only sincere apologies. Top Ten Reasons Why Our Kids Are Leaving the Church. A workplace colleague recently engaged the young people of his church in a discussion: Why are your friends leaving the Church? I don’t agree with the politics preached from the pulpit. Is God a Republican? When I worship with my church family, I feel pressure to vote a particular way once I turn 18. And that’s not right. Some of my friends don’t feel welcome here. When adults see me in chur...

había una vez...: Tom Petty is a LIAR
http://pekuita.blogspot.com/2012/02/tom-petty-is-liar.html
There's a bug on my dahlia. Sunday, February 12, 2012. Tom Petty is a LIAR. So remember last year around New Years when I wrote some sappy blog post. About how I was convinced that something good was coming after I heard Tom Petty's song? Well the year sucked on many levels but I kept trying desperately to think that something good was coming despite the fact that it seemed like something unfortunate was occurring much too often for comfort. February 12, 2012 at 6:49 PM. Bloom where you are planted.

There's a bug on my dahlia. Monday, October 24, 2011. Ps i love you. So the whole point of my trip to NY was to visit my sister in Saratoga Springs. Despite all of the parking issues and my car being taken hostage by NYC parking nazis, the trip was quite delightful. You've seen pictures from NYC and my new hobby, but you've yet to hear about the sister part. It was quite typical. I watched her groom a poodle. We had tea parties. We did some office work. We made some calls. October 25, 2011 at 2:28 PM.

There's a bug on my dahlia. Sunday, October 23, 2011. New hobbies and success - the brighter side. In my last post I was eager to return to NYC and not get a $65 parking ticket. I report with great pride, that I did not get a $65 parking ticket. Let's not discuss what I got instead. Word to the wise. Just park outside the city and don't trust your friend's parking advice when she doesn't even own a car in NYC. Stacey and I decided to take up planking. 3AM NYC Impound Planking. Grand Rapids, MI. There's a bug on my dahlia. Tuesday, February 21, 2012. Pinterwhat, agave, 6,000. Ya ya I joined pinterest. It's like a plague. My mom's friend told me I could organize stuff that I like on there. I replied, "err duh that's what bookmarking is for.". I'm not gonna lie, bookmarking is the most annoying feature in my browser. In theory I think it's a great idea. In reality, I have bookmarked about 3 sites in my entire internet life. So I opened an account. I don't get it. February 21, 2012 at 10:40 PM.

There's a bug on my dahlia. Monday, February 14, 2011. Awesome sundays and writing love poems. So yesterday was Sunday! Does anyone else find cupids creepy? I’ve forgotten how it feels. The warmth of your embrace. The sensation of your breath. Forming goose bumps on my skin. I’ve forgotten how it feels. To walk peacefully and freely. Swinging my arms and dancing. To the sweet music you once played. I dream of you at night. Walking, talking, biking. Feet in the sand. Your warmth fills me to the core.

January 18, 2016. What if Martin Luther King Jr. Had a Dream, came off of the Mountaintop. What if he caved to the pressure of self doubt. And journaled his thoughts instead in some quiet quaint safe place, smiled deeply, closed the front cover, put down his pen, and tucked his journal neatly in his bottom left drawer under some papers? What if he knew he was right, but was just too tired to try fighting Goliath? Martin Luther King Jr. December 28, 2014. He had the blood of kings in his veins. Or the uni...

There's a bug on my dahlia. Tuesday, January 11, 2011. I have a sister, who despite her flaws (we all have them), is pretty amazing. She may not know how amazing I really think she is and how proud I am of her, so today I am dedicating this blog post to her. Let's start out with a few pictures from back in the day. along with some appropriate adjectives. Undoubtedly one of the single most creative. Who the hell is Sandy Pumpkin? Now, for some more recent photos and more adjectives. Love both of you.

There's a bug on my dahlia. Saturday, February 25, 2012. An addendum [for big daddy] - not sucky at all. A friend of mine who would like to be referred to "big daddy" in this entry brought it to my attention that a statement I made in my "32 to 32" blog post. Was not only inaccurate but extremely offensive. What a little ho-bag! I'm sorry. I am a ho-bag. :(. Sometimes we allow the few consecutive sucky situations cloud our perspective on life. I'm pretty guilty of this sometimes unfortunately. Which shou...
