The Accidental Tutor: It's the student's paper, not tutor's

http://accidentaltutor.blogspot.com/2011/12/its-students-paper-not-tutors.html

Saturday, December 17, 2011. It's the student's paper, not tutor's. Rule #1: It's the student's. Paper, not the tutor's. This is the most important rule of all. It's perhaps easiest to see and follow when the student argues a position I completely disagree with. My job is not at all. Reasons, not the tutor's. As a tutor, I will point out obvious fallacies, but beyond that, it is up to the instructor, not the tutor, to judge the quality of the reasons. Name on the top of the paper, no one else's. No m...

Although it's sometimes not easy. You need to end up with a thesis statement, and it eventually needs to be good, but you don't need to start. Focus is better than no focus at all. If you're really stuck, there's a lot you can do without any sort of thesis statement at all. You should have at least a topic. Please do not post links advert...

October 4, 2009 at 7:24 pm Posted in 1. Here is a short video I made for a Chroma Key class taught by Alex Isorsky at Cambridge Community Television. Chroma keying is the act of using an editing program to select a “key”color (chroma) from an image or video and manipulate it in some way. Monday, October 31, 2016. Cuyamaca 100k (very post race) wrap up. A month late.* * *. But now it's time to get back to the regular world and to the races I've signed up for.
