My girl is old enough not only to take pictures of her scary looking mom first thing in the morning, she's also old enough to buy me presents with her own hard-earned money! She was so excited. Our Little Kingdom: Easter
http://blog.andrewkatie.com/2012/09/easter.html
Monday, September 17, 2012. We had a wonderful Easter this year. We kicked off our weekend with an Easter festival held at a church near our house. It started at 10:00 am, so we naively thought we shouldn't get there too early because it might be awkward to be early birds. Little did we know, the entire south side of the city was there! Holly had the time of her life and Josie.well, we found out that day that she doesn't like the sun. Or the heat. Or walking around outside. Oh, well. I'm Katie, wife to A...

Our Little Kingdom: October 2011
http://blog.andrewkatie.com/2011_10_01_archive.html
Thursday, October 27, 2011. Holly had another laser treatment today. It was, I believe, number six. We had to be at the hospital at 7:30 am, so we had to leave home at 4:30 am. Luckily, the girls did beautifully in the car both ways. And my mom tagged along to take care of Josie, which was a huge. And the best thing of all was, Holly woke up happy. I love this little girl! For more pictures of Holly's latest adventures (and some cute pics of Josie too), check out my sister-in-law's blog post here. Holly ...

Thursday, April 28, 2011. WARNING: Terrible iPhone pictures ahead! Today was Holly's second laser treatment. Unfortunately, Andrew wasn't able to come with us; however, my mom agreed to come with, so I had another grown-up and someone to take Josie for me. I am very glad that she was able to come and for all the help she gave me. Let me say this: everyone. Remembered Holly from last time. One thing this girl will never be accused of is not having personality! Too bad I couldn't catch it on camera. We all...

Our Little Kingdom: October 2012
http://blog.andrewkatie.com/2012_10_01_archive.html
Tuesday, October 23, 2012. In spite of being sick most of the summer, we actually had a wonderful summer. This is the first year that both girls have enjoyed the beach, so we took full advantage and went to the beach a lot. Our favorite time of day to go is late afternoon, after nap time is over. We would pack a picnic dinner, some beach chairs, and head out to the beach. Holly and Josie enjoying their sandwiches. This summer we decided to go for it and register Holly for swimming lessons. She had a ...

Our Little Kingdom: September 2012
http://blog.andrewkatie.com/2012_09_01_archive.html
Monday, September 17, 2012. Our sleeping arrangements for the girls have been sporadic at best. Theoretically, they both sleep in the same room. In practice, Josie sleeps in a pack-n-play in our extra bedroom 9 nights out of 10. It's just easier this way, somehow. Sweet girls. How can your heart not melt at this sight? Both sleeping together in the crib like that. I'm always tempted to leave them that way, but end up moving them to avoid confusion and/or a fight at 3:00 in the morning. Out At the Land.

Our Little Kingdom: July 2011
http://blog.andrewkatie.com/2011_07_01_archive.html
Friday, July 8, 2011. Soremember all my posts about renovating our kitchen last year? Yeah Well, we did finish the kitchen last spring. But I have terrible self discipline and I can't manage to keep the kitchen counters clean for five minutes, much less remember to take pictures of the kitchen while it's clean. Then, one day, I flipped the TV on and Hoarders was on. Oh, my. I was sucked in. I could not look away, no matter how much I wanted to! Something, for goodness' sake! Much better than the industri...

Our Little Kingdom: November 2011
http://blog.andrewkatie.com/2011_11_01_archive.html
Tuesday, November 15, 2011. The day has come! Holly has been fixated on a "big girl bed" for about a week or so now, and yesterday afternoon she was insistent that she get one. So today after work, Andrew demolished her crib and put her mattress on the floor. Okay, okay. So it's not exactly a bed. More like a mattress on the floor. But you know what? Which means that I am experiencing all of those complicated motherly emotions over this moment: excitement and pride, but lots of sadness too. Because m...
