In her home town and even beyond her home town she was known for her brains. She was always in the honours in each year level (yes, even kinder/prep) and in University she received the prized Magna Cum-Laude. Whenever I go to Philippines people in her town will ask me what I am since I have such a smart mother. They expect me to say lawyer, doctor or the like. I think my answer always disappoints them.
