We had a great time visiting family and friends, but it's also nice to be home. Gabrielle cashed in on her first Christmas. She's got more toys now than will fit in our house and they all sing, light up, talk, etc. What ever happened to quiet toys? The tooth is really small still, but you can see it. Tuesday, August 18, 2009. Now that Im in the mood to write again, I was going to talk about the wonderful and memorable NYC night I just had but I walked into my apartment and I just CANT. My roommate moved out a couple of weeks ago and there is another two weeks before my new roommate could move in. So, my AMAZING super decided to come in and make some repairs. Saturday, June 13, 2009. After years of eating 12 grain bread with turkey or chicken for lunch, Ive regressed back to my childhood favorite. Bologna sandwiches on Wonder Bread! It all started when I found that Wonder Bread has a new whole grain white bread. Its chewy goodness like regular white bread but its a little firmer and a lot better for you. So, when I couldnt sleep the other night I decided to play with Google Maps on my phone and I was beyond excited to see there is a water taxi that goes from 34th St to LaGuardia. Not that I will likely ever take it, but I love that it exists. So I was using my track ball to trace the water route to the airport and was noticing all these landmarks it goes by, most notably.Rikers Island. Is the whole barge technically a brig? Does it ever go out on the river? I have many questions.

Yes, this is a first world problem, and yes, its a lot better than other types of profiling (I.e., racial, gender, etc.) but dang it all if I havent been subjected to destination profiling. This past weekend I experienced my first big snowstorm living in NYC. Sidenote: I did experience one when I came up to visit my friend Marc before I moved. We watched all of Season 1 of Weeds and ate Chinese. It was the best trip ever. Sent from my Verizon Wireless BlackBerry.

Thursday, February 12, 2009. I really need to get Blogger on my Blackberry. I waste a LOT of time on the subway when I could be updating my blog. Sigh. Anyway, I thought some of you might be interested in my surgery experience, and now that I'm no longer fuzzy (due to antibiotics and Tylenol with codeine) I can actually form coherent sentences. So, I showed up at the hospital and walked up to the admittance desk and told the woman my name and she goes, "Oh you're Roxanne! We have a room waiting for you!
