It's on my list to update here. So, past midnight, let me tell you: I am well. Huge Intimidated by the new semester. Snowed in. Craving chocolate and vegetable puree soups. When a pregnant woman asks for a label machine. For my making it through finals), and appears to be another girl. Yay! PS I want a Kindle! For nursing, yknow!

Et al.: Hear me roar
http://etaliae.blogspot.com/2008/11/hear-me-roar.html
Friday, November 28, 2008. So guess who spent yesterday morning in a little frenzy of home care? Yup One of the smart moms at ballet class suggested that blocked gutters could be at least partly to blame for the water issue, an idea I (internally) pooh-poohed- I just had the gutters done in February, and that wall is away from the trees on the West side of the house. Posted by Alison Hale @ 12:13 PM. Supa D. Fresh. It is later in the evening, February 14, 2009, and I am at the office thinking of you....

Confessions of a Young Professor: Teaching 'Revolutionary Road,' Part II: One Little Victory.
http://professorconfessions.blogspot.com/2008/10/teaching-revolutionary-road-part-ii.html
Thursday, October 30, 2008. Teaching 'Revolutionary Road,' Part II: One Little Victory. Last night, 10:08 pm The Young Professor's nose is buried in her copy of Revolutionary Road. Re-reading the assigned pages for tomorrow's class. She's thinking: I hate this novel. She's thinking: I can't concentrate. She's thinking: I am so fucked. It never occurred to me that teachers ever felt that way," said her sister. But then only three students came to class. Am I modeling that for them from step one? Do I simp...

General Glut's Globblog: December employment figures -- ho-hum
http://globblog.blogspot.com/2007/01/december-employment-figures-ho-hum.html
Deflation, disorder, development (and its demise), democracy (ditto) and dystopia. Friday, January 05, 2007. December employment figures - ho-hum. It's time for the BLS monthly employment report review. Here's the straight dope from Uncle Sam himself. If we highlight the private sector data alone, we see a one-month increase of 150,000 jobs, slightly higher than November's 144,000 and the economy's best job producing month since August. Is just that - nonsense. That makes 2006 a pretty mediocre year....

The manic ravings of a woman who has been pushed to the edge by the rudeness of society in general. Tuesday, August 05, 2008. I was telling my husband about this cool article I read: http:/ www.schneier.com/essay-155.html. I was asking him about the following two scenarios:. There are 600 people. You have two choices:. A Save 200 people. B Take a 2/3rds chance that 200 people will live or 2/3rd chance that 600 people will die. There are 600 people. You have two choices:. A Kill 400 people.

Slaves of Academe: Classroom Notes: Embarrassment of Riches
http://slavesofacademe.blogspot.com/2009/02/classroom-notes-embarrassment-of-riches.html
Classroom Notes: Embarrassment of Riches. Yet, there are students who work with me, setting boundaries and returning us to relevant questions. We are all working together, in tandem, to create the space that we need to actually talk in depth about race. And it is working. I have done this before, but when it actually comes together, it can seem like a miracle. Mon Feb 09, 10:11:00 AM. It seems to me that race and ethnic studies are at a moment of new interest and attention. Enjoy the ride. Confessions of...
