My longest training run leading up to Afton was Superior on May 19. And for the three weeks prior to Afton I was unable to do really anything except a green lighting 3 miler the Wednesday before the race. There were really 3 days that I used to train for Voyager, the Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday the week between the events. June was a busy month with surgery on the 22.

Sunday, July 17, 2011. July 16th and 17th training and events. 18 and 6; finishing the 18 with a 3.7 that I ran on my wedding day 9 years ago! My wife and I talked that we averaged 1 kid per 3 years and we have seen a lot in the last 9 years. I am blessed to have her by my side. I was home to refuel in 9 miles and was off again. Kate was just waking up so I was at the least able to communicate. She actually brought up a new shirt for me. Thanks hon! Superior 50 Mile Training Program.

Saturday, June 18, 2011. New Training Grounds Unlocked-Watertower Hill and drinking fountain loop. Let me start by saying this, I absolutely love how she explains to me where this place is. "you take shady oak north to this road, down this hill, look over your left shoulder, turn around and start going up hill." Spot on with direction, I just love how the adventure begins. Well, I didn't find what I was looking for then and was asked the question, "did you run watertower hill? 6 oz apple sauce natural.

Wednesday, March 14, 2012. So last week was one full of training. Some ViPR, kettlebells, deadlifts, lunges, sprints (2 sets on Thursday), then a break until Sunday. I think I overdid it a little bit. The deadlifts have always been a bit of an issue if going to heavy. I was able to make time for a trip to the chiro on Saturday morning. I needed that. Monday, September 26, 2011. Superior 50 mile recap. I'll write more details:. It was dark at the start and the energy was high. This was it and I was FIRED UP and ready to go. I know these aren't smiles but look how cute his chubby little toes are! Mom and I always go shopping on Black Friday but this year was a little different. Usually we just go to get some good deals on whatever we can find but this year, there was a camera at Target that I just HAD to get. So, with Target opening at midnight this year, we were there at 10! I was so happy! I had so much to be thankful for this year at Thanksgiving! The GGs with all their greats- Elli loves her cousin Jaren! Boy, oh boy!

Warrior Dash and celebrating ONE year! The last weekend in June was so busy for us! On Saturday, Tommie ran in the Warrior Dash with Jon, Jesse and my cousin Dann. It was such a fun experience and he was so proud to finish out the course. It was full of obstacles. a fire pit, crawling under barbed wire, climbing ropes. and so much more! We have so much MN stuff so we decided we needed some Florida stuff for Jaren. We found this onesie at a store in the MOA when Tommie's parents were here. This 4th of July, my cousin Tomm read the Declaration of Independence at the town festival in Forest Lake. We headed out early to hear the reading. I don't think I've ever heard the whole Declaration read out loud and I'm pretty sure I've never read it for myself. It was so interesting to hear the whole thing read and it was a good reminder of what we really celebrate on the 4th of July. We took in a parade after the reading and then headed home for nap time and some BBQ! No better way to spend our 4th!

I have been wanting to take Jaren to see Santa this season but the lines are always way too long at the malls. plus they charge for the pictures now! So, when I heard someone special was going to be Santa at the Home Depot, we just had to go visit! It's a whole story about how Tommie is his coach and teaches him to be really good at football. It's been awhile since I've updated anything on here so here's some new pics from the last few weeks. Jaren is trying so hard to crawl now! He hasn't quite got it but it will be any day now. He pulls himself up on his knees and rocks back and forth. Once he figures out what to do with those hands and knees, it's over! It was such a fun-filled and busy weekend! I am enjoying my time at home tonight, WITH power! We woke up Friday morning around 330 am to the sound of thunder, lightening and no power. Tommie was home with Jaren all day and the power came back on around 2 pm. Friday night started with a girl's night at Jessi's. We had so much fun! We've taken a couple of trips to local orchards this fall so far. One thing that I LOVE about living in Minnesota is the seasons changing and fall is one of my faves! Look who turned ONE! We had such a FUN day for Jaren's first birthday! It started out with some blueberry waffles and hang out time with Mama. Then, off to daycare for a little party with all of his little friends. I took the day off to get everything ready for the actual party. Thanks to my mom who came out to help me! Mr and Mrs. Smith.

Pizza and Movie Night! Daddy went out to watch the Heat game so it was just me and my boy tonight. We made a homemade pizza and then watched a movie before bedtime. I love spending quality time with this guy! He was laughing out loud at the movie while eating puffcorn and was having so much fun. Not sure what's in for the rest of this rainy Memorial Day weekend.
