The kids spend their time swimming, fishing, kayaking, frog catching, sitting around the campfire and more! It is a great way for kids to spend their time! My post is entitled "Hiking". My kids ask what I do when they're not around for the weekend. I joke and say "absolutely nothing! Http:/ chicagoportage.org/chicagoportage.htm. Suggested then a that a sho...

City Chick Adventures: The sock saga
http://citychickadventures.blogspot.com/2013/02/the-sock-saga.html
Adventures of a City Chick in and out of the city! Friday, February 22, 2013. I have a big, clear zipper type baggie I keep in my bedroom. It's the home of unmatched socks or as my youngest daughter called them - "lonely socks". Each and every time - well, not every time - I would wash whites I would haul the bag out and attempt to match up the lonely socks. At times the bag was very full. Other times I was successful and only a handful would remain. Most of the socks belong to my children.

Adventures of a City Chick in and out of the city! Thursday, February 16, 2012. And the winner is. Sorry for the delay, we've had some technical difficulties here. I asked my daughter to assist me in drawing a winner for the MaryJanes Farm back issue magazine and the chocolates. We employed a very scientific method to find a winner so of course my 10 year old had to tell me what to do. We put all the names into her favorite hat. She shook them up really good. Removed one entry from the hat.

City Chick Adventures: January 2012
http://citychickadventures.blogspot.com/2012_01_01_archive.html
Adventures of a City Chick in and out of the city! Monday, January 30, 2012. Seriously, being on the front page of Girl Gab has me so excited! So excited, I decided to do a giveaway! It's my first - so bear with me. Last May, MaryJane, Meg and some others from the farm, came to the Macy's store in Lombard, IL. I was too shy to stay afterwards and chat with them and the other Farm Girls who showed up. MaryJane and Meg were so friendly and down to earth! I was happy to go and listen and learn! I can't wait...

City Chick Adventures: September 2011
http://citychickadventures.blogspot.com/2011_09_01_archive.html
Adventures of a City Chick in and out of the city! Thursday, September 29, 2011. Saturday, Sept. 24th was my 44th birthday. I went on an woman's retreat for the weekend and found myself signing my name to the ziplining schedule. Yes, me - who is terrified of heights, won't ride a roller coaster or anything else that could cause me to scream my head off! Can I do this? I was second guessing myself. I kept praying for the Lord to give me courage. I was next! I did it 2 more times! Links to this post. Sew s...

Dinnertime Talk: March 2010
http://dinnertimetalk.blogspot.com/2010_03_01_archive.html
Monday, March 29, 2010. Dinner for March 28. Our plans for dinner flew out the window when one of the kids flew the coop and went to stay overnight at a friend's house. Why make a nice big dinner when not all of us would be present to enjoy it? Off we went to Applebee's! Tonight, if the power does not go out (we are in for a storm throughout the day), the steak that has been marinating will be cooked and eaten. Even if the power goes out, we have a barbecue out on the deck and it can be used tonight.
