This Sunday (Dec 21) was the pulse polio vaccination drive organized jointly by the Government and Rotary International. I have been a volunteer to this program in the past and know all the hard work that goes into administering the polio vaccine to thousands of babies in the country. Bangalore North, Central and South constituencies which boast of probably the highest literacy percentage in the whole country saw a voter turnout of less than 50%. This is appalling and downright disappointing. Folks, we will have ourselves to blame if some random jerk comes to power and screws up the already broken system we have. Its a wonderful movie and is a tale of four friends who form a rock band. Its a story of how small things could bring in misunderstanding between friends and also about how we can patch up if we just reach out. All the areas that got flooded during this week's "chandamaruta" were previously lakes and tanks, nature's own drainage system. See here.
