A Game for Philip | Achtung! GameChef!
https://achtunggamechef.wordpress.com/2009/08/31/a-game-for-philip
The Adventures of Sir Working Title. A Game for Philip. August 31, 2009. So, I’ve always wanted to do an easy-entry kind of game for my boys (Philip is 5, Alec is 3). Truth be told, Alec doesn’t show much interest in games as activities (he loves them as toys). Therefore, it’s a game that I can play with Philip. If Alec and Mom want to play too, I’ll worry about that during revisions. Because it’s targeted at a Dad and a five-year old, it’s got to do a bunch of things:. Not bore Dad stiff with its content.

Framework & a few Mechanics | Achtung! GameChef!
https://achtunggamechef.wordpress.com/2009/08/31/framework-a-few-mechanics
The Adventures of Sir Working Title. Framework and a few Mechanics. August 31, 2009. Aisde: Philip’s game still doesn’t have a name. How Stuff Hangs Together. It’s going to be based around quests. There will be some concrete objective that needs to be accomplished. I want the object of the quest. The hurdles along the way to emerge out of a conversation. The Adventures of Sir Working Title. Oh for God’s sake! August 31, 2009. Seriously folks, I’m weeping here. Don’t fall into the trap of trying to shoehorn in too many ingredients. Unless you know, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that you’re the kind of person who thrives on rediculous amounts of constraint, just pick one or two ingredients and run. It’s totally within the rules. Don’t stonewall yourself trying to cram your design into boxes that won’t hold it. I apologize for my misuse of Crying Wolfman, but,.

Letting Dad slip one in… | Achtung! GameChef!
https://achtunggamechef.wordpress.com/2009/09/01/letting-dad-slip-one-in
The Adventures of Sir Working Title. Letting Dad slip one in…. September 1, 2009. Here’s a snapshot of a conundrum I’ve been wrestling with. First, the setup:. I like the fact that Philip is going to get to set up his own adversity en route to completing the quest. (But I don’t want his own adversity to be the only kind he faces.). I don’t want a laundry list of traits on the Knight’s sheet! Having too many traits will just make for a watered-down, unfocused character. Posted in 7 Days. For my game, I am...
