Chemotherapy targets actively dividing cell thus affecting the patient’s tumor cells as well as their hair and other stem cell populations. What is breast cancer? Normal breast anatomy and physiology. Most of the breast tissue in females is composed of lobules, ducts and stroma. Lobules are the glands that secrete milk which is collected into ducts that transport the milk to the nipple.
