http://brettmx.blogspot.com/2010/06/i-know-its-been-while.html
Thursday, June 24, 2010. I know it's been a while. Annie and I have done so much in the past few months, it's overwhelming to think about sometimes. So while we try to blog it all, I thought that I would post something interesting that I read this morning. What I think is most important about that statement is that chiropractic can not only benefit those with immune deficiencies. Chiropractic has produced those same results for people without HIV. More interesting posts to come, so stay tuned! What an in...

Next Step: Rocket Science. Heather and Whitney are Probably Pretty Awesome. Laquo; A Monkey Could Do It. Hypocrites of the Sea. May 14, 2011. There’s nothing I hate more than whaling. It’s painful and disgusting and anti-Marxist and stinky and unnecessary. And yet I seem to be drawn to all sorts of whaling paraphernalia. It all started with. Because it’s one of those books that you have more fun thinking about than actually reading, it makes sense that the aftermath of. First, there’s this guy. Whaling i...

Next Step: Rocket Science. Heather and Whitney are Probably Pretty Awesome. Laquo; The Robber Bride. A Monkey Could Do It. January 7, 2011. Everyone seems to have read this already, but this was my first time. As a kid I was never into 18th century literature like a lot of other little Mormon girls (i.e. my sister), and then as I got older I felt like I had waited too long and had become too familiar with the story to find it enjoyable. Luckily, reading isn’t. I hate that guy! Leave a Reply Cancel reply.

Next Step: Rocket Science. Heather and Whitney are Probably Pretty Awesome. Laquo; Sundance Starts. January 21, 2010. But I have had a couple years of grad school in film studies, and this novel felt very cinematic to me. Almost like a Terrence Malick film, in which everything washes over you as though in a dream. Characters and settings are all important and plot devices get lost in the wind. Nature takes over and moves people aside, drowning them under layers of lake water. Leave a Reply Cancel reply.

invitation to understanding: Goodbye Conan
http://brettmx.blogspot.com/2010/01/goodbye-conan.html
Monday, January 25, 2010. I began watching his shows more regularly in 1996, when my bed time became more relaxed. To me this was some of the best of Conan's career. I remember vividly, seeing Amy Poehler appear in braces as Andy's little Sister, confessing her undying love for Conan. It was around this time that Carl "Oldie" Olsen started making appearances on the show and I remember watching the show in 1998 when he died. Oldie Olsen tribute (1998). This is not from that night, but close. On October 8t...

Wednesday, June 3, 2009. I am working on a post with the pictures of my recent trip to Boston, but I thought that in the mean time I would post a video that I think everyone should watch. It is a chalk animation drawn by an artist named Lucinda Schreiber and set to the song "Autumn Story" by Fire Kites. Enjoy! That is awesome.one of the coolest things I have ever seen.Music was good too! June 4, 2009 at 7:18 AM. June 4, 2009 at 10:15 AM. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile.

Thursday, May 7, 2009. Road Trip Days 4 and 5. After weaving in and out of small, maze like roads that tangle around the Opryland hotel,we finally saw a sign that said "Grand Ole Opry". The historic theater was nestled beneath several large trees, right next to a "Dave and Buster's" restaurant. After taking our pictures we hopped back in the car, me in the drivers seat and began a nine hour drive to Buffalo, only stopping for gas and to grab some fast food in Cincinnati. It was a large concave crater of ...

invitation to understanding: My Day in Boston
http://brettmx.blogspot.com/2009/06/my-day-in-boston_24.html
Wednesday, June 24, 2009. My Day in Boston. A few weeks ago we all decided to be impulsive and drive to Boston. None of us had been there and we were obviously in the mood to do something blatantly irresponsible. We left on Saturday night at 1:30am and arrived in Boston that morning around 6:00. The architecture is what impressed me most about the city. Tall buildings stood next to historic landmarks, integrating the old city with modern growth. We drove to Boston Commons, an old park designed by Fredric...
