Feeding has been going fairly well and there has also been a good amount of sleeping too, which is helping Paula get some rest. After a winter without chooks we now have some new ones on the property. We have gone for 3 Barnevelders which are supposed to be very hardy birds and good foragers. They will hopefully lay 250 eggs per year, each. We got them from a local breeder, Sarah at The Chook Shed. Hopefully they will start laying in 8 weeks. Måndag, mars 03, 2014. Idag blåser här snorkalla vindar från Antarktis och som vanligt får vi låsa ytterdörren för att den inte ska blåsa upp då den vetter mot söder och dörren leder inåt. Är man tacksam över att man har tak över huvudet eller? Prognosen säger kraftigt regn för morgondagen, brrr. Annat var det på stranden strax norr om Dunedin (se länk). Tisdag, 04 mars, 2014. Fredag, mars 07, 2014. Efter regn kommer solsken. Igår var solen tillbaka med full kraft, och hästarna stod och tryckte vid grinden på morgonen för att bli avklädda. Och när täcken kommit av gav de varandra en rejäl omgång kliande med tänderna, gött! Agda 1-7 gick på promenad med Bosse i solskenet, passade på att pressa ut några ägg, fårskallarna torkade upp och livet var åter ett mycket behagligt sådant på denna ö i Stiiiiilla Havet. Onsdag, april 30, 2014. Trevlig Valborg på er! Här har vi haft ösregn i ordets rätta betydelse och Christchurch har än en gång varit totalt översvämmat. Man vet knappt om man ska skratta eller gråta när man ser hur stora delar av stan ligger under vatten, men en ska är säker; vi är tacksamma över att vara lantisar. Fredag, mars 07, 2014. Man vet att man bor på en ö i Stilla Havet när vädret slår om på en kvart. I måndags hände just det och vi gick från värmebölja till värsta busvädret på hundra år inom loppet av minuter. Stora delar av Christchurch översvämmades då regnet vräkte ned och våra stackars fyrbentingar fick vippas in i vintertäckena.
