To date I have built, and partly built 3 machines. Click on the link button at the bottom to jump to an assorted thumbnail gallery page for the machines. 1 - My first machine was a 3-axis engraver. 2 - was a 3-axis gantry for a plasma cutter. I co-designed the machine with a co-op student I had in my shop at the time, and I built the controls and electronics. The finished machine was placed in the High School. Last Updated 19 Dec 2007.

The History of NC*(Numerical Control). 1947 - Development of a control system that directed a spindle to many positions in succession. 1951 - The Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) added a computer to the 1947 (Parsons Corporation) system. 1952 - Cincinnati Milicron developed the first three-axis numerically controlled (NC) tape-fed (paper) machine tool. 1954 - NC was announced to the public. 1957 - The first production NC machines were delivered and installed.
