ACT Fly Fishers is a Canberra based fly fishing club catering for the needs of freshwater and saltwater flyfishers. Meetings are held at the Canberra Deakin Football Club, Grose Street, Deakin, commencing at 7:30 PM on the first and third Thursday of each month. The club has an active competition casting programme which all members can participate in. There are participation awards, encouragement awards and prizes for place getters, as well as the winners. The competitions are lots of fun and can really improve your fly casting skills. Don’t feel inhibited if you aren’t an expert; plenty of the others aren’t either and the atmosphere is informal. If you indicate that you would like advice and tuition, the more experienced casters are happy to help.
