Notes, resources, etc. that relate to job search, resume writing, interviewing, elevator pitches. Monday, January 24, 2011. One of the aspects of job search that I occasionally talk about is resilience: The ability to continue in the face of very significant resistance. One of our newer members, Curt Jacobson, has struggled with this as well and shared the story of one of the tools he has and is using to deal with it. Here's Curt's story:. An open letter to those of us “in transition”:. On the email, Cur...

Jim Scardelis' Blog: ActiveWords
http://jimscardelis.blogspot.com/2009/07/activewords.html
Friday, July 10, 2009. Trying out ActiveWords from www.activewords.com. It's really an ingenious utility - performs word substitutions and/or commands by watching what you type. It can do some really amazing things - from typing whole paragraphs for you when you type just a word, to launching programs and then making them do things for you. I'll keep blogging about ActiveWords as I learn new ways to use it in the coming months. Even now, though, it's clearly a winner. Posted by Jim Scardelis.

http://addictivewords.blogspot.com/2005/12/supercharge-your-send-to-menu-or.html
Tuesday, December 27, 2005. Supercharge your Send To menu, or ActiveWords it! It would be nice to put everything you like on the "Send to" menu on the right click menu, wouldn`t it? And indeed you can! In fact you can put any shortcut to the "Send to" menu. Find the folder you want to have there. Make a shortcut and cut it. Then just navigate to document and settings folder, select the correct user, enter the "Send to" folder ( usually hidden ) and paste the folder in it. VoilÃ! My name: Send to (ST).

AddictiveWords: Uppercase / lowecase switch aided by Wordpad.
http://addictivewords.blogspot.com/2006/05/uppercase-lowecase-switch-aided-by.html
Saturday, May 06, 2006. Uppercase / lowecase switch aided by Wordpad. I have made this huge script to quickly change between uppercase and lowercase without running any large programs like Word, etc. Mostly it have finished before the great hog (Word) have arisen. I have not tried it on very large documents, but in such cases its better to use Word itself. The script is simple, but large. This cleans the text for any instances of LARGE letter. I name it UC (Uppercase). It's a utility published by the aut...

Script School. Best Scriptwriting Software.
http://scriptschool.co.uk/software.html
He software you choose to write your scripts comes down to a matter of personal taste. If, indeed, you choose to use software at all. Some writers still prefer the good old fashioned pen-and paper approach. Stephen King often writes his novels this way. Hard to argue with that one. Broadly, your choice falls into two categories: purpose-written scriptwriting software, or general purpose Word Processing software. Ar and away the most popular choice. Almost all screenplays are written with Final Draft.
