Apostolic Christian World Relief Cleanup efforts in Mississippi in communities damaged by Hurricane Katrina. Monday, December 31, 2007. Week 1 Day 1. Crews were working on homes sites at various stages from clearing derelict cars and brush, digging footers, and framing and paneling. Crews refurbishing homes worked on repairing and replacing siding, painting trim, and mudding the drywall installed last week. Andy Joos and Nathan Schock working on getting power to the campground. Apostolic Christian World Relief Cleanup efforts in Mississippi in communities damaged by Hurricane Katrina. Wednesday, March 26, 2008. Dedication services were held in Pass Christian at Our Mother of Mercy Church followed by dessert in the hall. This church survived the hurricane but was knocked off its foundation. The rain threatened all day, however we did not get wet until most of the crews were back to the Cedar Lake Church. The crews kept the projects moving. Bryan Klumpp and Joan Hanson hang drywall in the Romain home. Keith Hanson and Alyssa Nuest secure drywall in Romain home. Aaron Luthi and Ed Strahm build walls in the McOwens home. The week 5 crew.

Today was a great day that saw some more progress towards getting the houses totally complete. There are getting to be less and less things to do at the different houses. Today was even more special. Because we were invited by Bishop Nelson from the Lighthouse Church in Biloxi. Cleans off a picnic table before it is painted at the Saucier house. Thanks for the support.

Our crew gathers at the Nghia house to join him for a house blessing ceremony. After the ceremony, we enjoyed a brunch that people from his church had prepared. Lauretta Schafer, Bruce Schafer, Michelle Steffen, Nghia Dao, Ann Klopfenstein, Traung Trinh, and Ron Hodel enjoy the wonderful brunch. Mr. Trinh is the priest from Mr. Dao's church. It was sunny and in the upper 50's. Still a bit windy at the houses near the Gulf. Work progressed remarkably well. Flooring was finished at McOwens and cupboards were delivered and installed. Siding was finished at Nghia and nearly finished at Romain. Mudding was nearly finished at Charlot and Jacobs. The week 9 crew.
