The Block 'Burghers: God Bless Andrew Richard!
http://blockburghers.blogspot.com/2015/04/god-bless-andrew-richard.html
Tuesday, April 21, 2015. God Bless Andrew Richard! Congratulations to Andrew as he made his first communion this Sunday! We were honored to celebrate with him, and pray the love and joy of Jesus remains i his heart always. After Mass we enjoyed a fun party at the Koes' house. Katherine jumped right in with the boys and tried climbing the "mountain." She only made it as high as the treehouse, but has been talking almost nonstop about how she wants to climb another mountain with her cousins' help!

The Block 'Burghers: October 2013
http://blockburghers.blogspot.com/2013_10_01_archive.html
Tuesday, October 15, 2013. We had a great trip to the pumpkin patch at Simmons farms yesterday. Katherine thought the ride on the tractor was pretty special, and she loved running around the farm field. She was a bit wary of the giant slide and hay maze, but after watching Luke she was willing to try them out. Even Marie joined in on the fun- crawling through the long tunnel and holding her tiny pumpkin. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Travel template. Powered by Blogger.

Splendor in the Home: The Aftermath of Miscarriage
http://ourordinarylifeextraordinary.blogspot.com/2011/09/aftermath-of-miscarriage.html
Thursday, September 22, 2011. The Aftermath of Miscarriage. I'm so so sorry," she finally said, "but there's no heartbeat." I sucked in my breath, inaudibly, to hold back the tears that were threatening to well up. I would not cry in front of strangers. I didn't want to have to walk out of the building with everyone looking at me, knowing. This morning, I looked back at a calendar to get an idea of roughly when it happened. It was probably in the very week that I found out. I should've listened to my gut...

Splendor in the Home: 7 Quick Takes (Vol. 45)
http://ourordinarylifeextraordinary.blogspot.com/2015/03/7-quick-takes-vol-45.html
Friday, March 13, 2015. 7 Quick Takes (Vol. 45). You know how sometimes you don't blog for a really long time, and then it feels like you can't write a post until you have something to say that's really important or profound, but all you have are those usual little bits of everyday life that just aren't as interesting or timely anymore? You try to say something like, "two months ago, we played in the snow! That's kind of what's kept me from writing until these Quick Takes today. I re-painted our dining r...

Splendor in the Home: The Kiddos
http://ourordinarylifeextraordinary.blogspot.com/2015/01/the-kiddos.html
Saturday, January 17, 2015. Just some updates on the people who have been consuming all my blogging time! Is still ever ever ever so slowly learning to read. He's doing a little better these days at imaginative play, which I feel has never come very naturally to him. Rosie. It, and have been playing store very regularly since. Recently, he was frustrated because we've stopped buying juice. Me: "Well, juice has a lot of sugar, Sly, and it kind of makes kids crazy.". First snow of the year. Maria must be m...

Splendor in the Home: A Quick and Cheap "IKEA hack" for Cloth Diaper Supplies
http://ourordinarylifeextraordinary.blogspot.com/2015/01/a-quick-and-cheap-ikea-hack-for-cloth.html
Tuesday, January 20, 2015. A Quick and Cheap "IKEA hack" for Cloth Diaper Supplies. So I found a good use for an IKEA item. But why do people call these things "hacks"? Basically, I picked something up at IKEA, and I'm using it as really convenient storage for my cloth diapering accessories.so because that's not necessarily the use that the manufacturer intended, does one get to call it a "hack"? Then last time I went to IKEA I got one of their wall-storage systems. It's been working out so perfectly.

The Block 'Burghers: April 2014
http://blockburghers.blogspot.com/2014_04_01_archive.html
Monday, April 28, 2014. Mommy is currently on the road in New Jersey, and I've been missing my girls (and Ted) like crazy! Daddy sent me this video of Katherine that I've enjoyed a couple dozen times. I wanted to share and I hope you enjoy too! Sunday, April 20, 2014. Our family was up at sunrise to celebrate the Happiest Day Ever (that's the best way we could describe Easter to Katherine in 3-year-old terms). Today is the best Easter ever! Friday, April 18, 2014. Oma does so many wonderful things that w...

Splendor in the Home: February 2015
http://ourordinarylifeextraordinary.blogspot.com/2015_02_01_archive.html
Tuesday, February 17, 2015. Mardi Gras Feasting, Lenten Fasting. And once again, Lent seems to have sneaked up on me! It's not here *quite* yet, though. So make sure to spend today enjoying some good eating and the company of friends or family. If you don't have a plan for dinner tonight yet (and I'm amazed I actually do, since "meal planning" hasn't existed in my house since before Linus was born), may I suggest making the ever-delicious Pasta Carbonara? This is the recipe I use. Sarah W. Lennox. Bring ...

Splendor in the Home: The March For Life
http://ourordinarylifeextraordinary.blogspot.com/2011/01/march-for-life.html
Monday, January 24, 2011. The March For Life. Hold him during the 4-hour ride? What if he cried the whole time. Then for the March, would he ride in a stroller (another thing I'd have to take on the bus), or would I carry him in the Baby Bjorn (talk about being sore afterwards! Then there's the freezing weather to contend with - really don't want to have my baby outside for hours. And, maybe the biggest deterrent, what happens when he gets hungry? I can't just nurse him during the March! Whoa, now. M...
