Veronicahhh: Grenoble Flânerie
http://veronicahhh.blogspot.com/2010/05/grenoble-flanerie.html
Just a few shots that were on my iphone. At left, Tomme de Savoie. at right, Beaufort. On the rives of the Isère river in Grenoble. I dangled my legs off this ledge and soaked in the warm sun. The museum is across the street. Was, without exaggeration, one of the most memorable exhibitions I have ever seen. To top it all off, the show had its own concise exhibition catalog. This seems like such a luxury to us Canadians, where limited arts funding never allows for the possibility of a publication to g...

Veronicahhh: Trésors acquis en France
http://veronicahhh.blogspot.com/2010/05/tresors-acquis-en-france.html
Trésors acquis en France. I really like notebooks. This one is lined, which I normally don't like, but this. Creamsicle colour spoke to me. It also has the little folder at the back like the moleskine, however, it is made in France unlike a moleskine. Hemingway may not have used Rhodias, but generations of French children have and many of them became great authors anyway. I've had really good luck with books since I arrived. Here are some of my finds. Particularly worthy of note is Dur, dur. 24 May, 2010.

Teaching in the Ghetto. Schooled in the City. Bienvenue à Paris. Month: January, 2011. January 28, 2011. Nameless fog, late December. A solid two-hour drive beyond the great lazy sprawl of London-town proper lay the very rolling quiet of a pretty English countryside. I don’t remember its name, though. Oops. We played an old Nick Cave. Lately, this little. So forget Nick Cave, at least for now. The true nature of the day was more in the spirit of Van Morrison. Trudging across these long rolling places, I ...

Teaching in the Ghetto. Schooled in the City. Bienvenue à Paris. Month: November, 2010. November 29, 2010. The Only One Open on Sundays. Today was a crummy day. I woke up late. The weather was a seep-into-your-bones-and-never-leave kind-of cold. The kids in my classes were bonkers, and I feel like a bad teacher. Yesterday wasn’t great, either. But it was punctuated with a heartening moment, and I would like to share that moment. So, nasty tray in hand, bad-hair head bowed, I resigned myself to “wor...
