Figuring out what it means to be an adult in the suburbs. March 6, 2011. Or, as my mom says, "Mayor Cooper."). So, it looks like my typing fingers made a promise my heart couldn't cash in my last post. Of course, the moment I vowed not to let thoughts of pitter-pattering little feet take over the blog, it was the only thing I could think about to post about. It was like when someone tells you not to think of pink elephants. Then, you can't think of anything but. Come join me at Mamaturg. First FIRST: Inkt...

ThirtyFlirtyFab: November 2010
http://thirtyflirtyfab.blogspot.com/2010_11_01_archive.html
Figuring out what it means to be an adult in the suburbs. November 21, 2010. But now, I've got this other thing going, which is lending things a whole 'nother shade. I'm going to be a parent. And dammit if we don't all want to be the coolest parents in the world, not those old fuddy-duddy parents we've seen in other generations. Or, so the car companies believe of us. Or, we don't have to worry about becoming geeks, just because we've procreated! I thought. Parents are people, too! November 20, 2010.

Wednesday, April 18, 2007. My Big Irish Update. So far, so good, people. This place is greener, the Guinness fresher, and Steve more nauseatingly perfect for me than I could possibly have hoped for. For the first ten days of my trip, Steve took off work, so we puttered around together and had the first trial of our previously Skype-based relationship: could we stand each other 24-7 or would I be paying an unscheduled visit to my London friends to get the hell out of here? Posted by Liz at 10:03 AM. My sc...

Wednesday, November 29, 2006. And it feels so . . . meh. I had my ten year high school reunion in San Francisco this weekend, which culminated my Big California Week. I got to SF on a Sunday evening and proceeded to the Hertz rental car area. The woman behind the counter seemed baffled by the fact that I was a woman, alone, renting a car, not for business, not for my boyfriend, but for me and only me to drive. You here on business? You drive for you to go to work? No, like I said, I’m on vacation. The co...

Monday, July 02, 2007. Pride (In the Name of Love). Like all SEOs, and most bloggers, I check stats on my blog to see how many hits I get a day, and how people are finding me. It's usually pretty standard stuff; my name, my blog's name, my name SEO, my name Brooklyn or New York. Generally, nothing comes as much of a surprise. Thanks to this post. I now come up #1 on Google searches for 'conch penis.'. Posted by Liz at 1:07 PM. London, United Kingdom. View my complete profile. A Very Bad Beginning.

Tuesday, February 13, 2007. A saccharine thought from a non-saccharine person. When things are good, take the time to enjoy them. I spend far too much time feeling snarky. It is important to remind myself I should hold on to good memories as tightly as I clutch the bad ones. Even though a friend told me I looked like I got dressed in the dark this morning. Posted by Liz at 10:10 PM. Tuesday, February 06, 2007. Take him home and have your way with him, of course! Pity there's an ocean in the way.

ThirtyFlirtyFab: Who? (About Me)
http://thirtyflirtyfab.blogspot.com/p/who-about-me.html
Figuring out what it means to be an adult in the suburbs. I recently turned thirty, and started thinking about what that number means in our general consciousness. When you're thirty, you're supposed to be an adult, right? But thirty is young! So, I started this blog to explore what it means to be an (assumed) adult, having a job (albeit one in the arts where I get to play a lot of the time) and living in the suburbs (one with a pretty rockin' downtown, five minutes from a major city). And on that note.

Tuesday, March 27, 2007. Adam and I went to see Edward Scissorhands at BAM on Friday, and I had one of those theatrical experiences where I was left thinking did I miss something? This production was directed, conceived, choreographed, and for all I know, lit and designed by Matthew Bourne. He’s allegedly one of those polymath types, who’s hailed as a genius in his native England for his bold steps in moving modern dance in a brave new direction. He’s done shocking shocking! And so on . . . They were jus...
