I went walking...: March 2010
http://www.iwentwalking.net/2010_03_01_archive.html
Saturday, March 13, 2010. I live right next to the Sri Sivan Temple in Geylang. Each year we get a notice from them telling us that they will be celebrating through the night (last year was around Valentine’s Day, as I recall). There’s very little noise, and they do their best to keep the traffic moving despite the thousands of worshippers trying to get into the temple to present their milk pots as offerings. Sunday, February 7, 2010. Singapore Air Show 2010. The Singapore Air Show 2010 was held at the purpose-built Changi Exhibition Centre from 2nd – 7th February 2010. The first 4 days are solely for trade visitors, but on the weekend of the 6th and 7th, the show is opened up to the public. This was my first visit to the Changi Exhibition Centre. It’s off-limits to the public for almost the entire year, as it’s considered to be military land (so I was reliably informed by my Taxi driver…...There were al...

Saturday, January 30, 2010. According to the Wikipedia, “ Thaipusam. Is a major Hindu religious festival that is only celebrated in Singapore and Malaysia, since it was banned in India. As part of a penance to Lord Murugan. This next guy was particularly striking – he also left in the tongue piercing until the end:. I went walking...: September 2010
http://www.iwentwalking.net/2010_09_01_archive.html
Thursday, September 30, 2010. I’ve been terribly lax in updating this blog. I kind of got bogged down in other things and neglected it. I’ll try to post a little more frequently in future, but cannot guarantee I won’t get distracted by something shiny! Recently, the ANZA Click group went on a little excursion to the newly-built Marina Bay Sands Resort and Hotels to do a little shooting around sunset. Here’s what I got…. Posted by David Ford. I went walking...: November 2009
http://www.iwentwalking.net/2009_11_01_archive.html
Thursday, November 19, 2009. Out in the Rain. So I was out shopping today in a storm. Not much to report, but at one point I looked across the road and saw a small group of people trudging through the rain and thought I'd snap a quick shot of them looking sad and wet. And, I also took a couple out the front of the car on the way home. Here's the best, I think:. Posted by David Ford. Links to this post. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile. I went walking...: October 2009
http://www.iwentwalking.net/2009_10_01_archive.html
Thursday, October 29, 2009. So today, I decided that when I went shopping at the Kallang Centre, I’d take a wander around the area. It’s where the Singapore National Stadium is, and it’s on the waterfront, with views over the city. There’s not much to photograph in the area, apart from the nice view across the water, but for form’s sake, and to prove that I really did go walking about there, here are a couple more. The rest can be viewed in the set. Posted by David Ford. Links to this post. So today, I d...

Saturday, April 24, 2010. Objectifs Course – Guided Shoot 24th April. For our next guided shoot, we took a morning trip to Little India. Wendy (my shooting partner) and I decided to have a wander around the markets next to where we were supposed to be shooting, as we thought it would be more interesting. I got a great shot of some fish, showing a really shallow depth of field (I added the vignette later):. This last one was taken just outside the Temple, it shows the outside of the temple (above the entr...
