I'm a photographer and climber based in Sheffield (UK), right on the edge of the Peak District National Park. I specialise in images of wild landscapes, the nature that lives there, and the way people interract with them. Since childhood, I've been obsessed with the outdoors, and the link was forged most strongly through rock climbing as a teenager - read more on the vision. Wednesday, 15 September 2010. Turn, turn, turn. Callow Bank, November morning. In the meantime, things are busy. I've got lots of photography projects going on, including shooting a walking book, and some work on the new RSPB/ NT Eastern Moors partnership. I think most of us see them as a fairly uncritical part of the workflow that helps us to get from the exciting bit at the start - the camera - to the exciting bit at the end - the print. Monday, 29 March 2010. Well its been interesting month for lots of reasons. Did my first new winter route, lost my job, appeared on TV, and easily repeated what I had thought of as one of my greatest achievements. lots to think about! Last night the BBC's Countryfile. Sunset behind Mam Tor. Feels just as sweet as The Joker did last year. Ben Bransby on the last hard move of The July Crisis. V,5, Ysgolion Duon. Was perhaps the sweetest plum and I finally got it, and Nectar. Last of the snow cover, Wardlow.

Friday, 19 February 2010. I can't help being a bit of a believer in karma when it comes to the weather. Put the time in, slog it out even on the grim days, show the crag you're doing it for the love of it, and sooner enough you get rewarded with something special. Buachaille Etive Mor at first light.
