A Charming Place | PR Girl Conquering a Grad School World
https://gradprgirl.wordpress.com/2012/07/03/a-charming-place
PR Girl Conquering a Grad School World. July 3, 2012. Leaving the town of Norris, we headed for the Norris Dam State Park. We stopped at a lookout that provided gorgeous views of the dam and the reservoir. Construction for the Norris Dam began in 1933 and it was the first dam built by the TVA. It is named after George Norris, who was a senator of Nebraska and author of the legislation that created the TVA. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here. A little bit of this, and a little bit of that. Time Stands Still in Historic Rugby. Storytelling and Irony in Balsam Mountain. July 12, 2012. Great Smoky Mountains National Park. A bear in a bad mood, tales of trout and a rapture-ready driver at an overlook: storytelling and irony are two words that sum up my recent trip to Balsam Mountain, N.C. But with the stories Campbell started telling us as soon as we sat down in his comfy campground residence, I’d sure hate to be camping in a tent. She came back ...

Beer, Deer and the Dragon | PR Girl Conquering a Grad School World

PR Girl Conquering a Grad School World. Beer, Deer and the Dragon. August 27, 2012. I looked out the window of Wohlwend’s car and a sign at a small gas station in Maryville caught my eye. I announced to Stansberry and Wohlwend that the gas station sells the cheapest beer in town. Then I looked at the clock and saw it was only 8:30 in the morning. Beer was the last thing we needed to be thinking about. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here. Address never made public). Ads of the World. Creat...

An Inititation to the Great Smoky Mountains | PR Girl Conquering a Grad School World
https://gradprgirl.wordpress.com/2012/06/30/an-inititation-to-the-great-smoky-mountains
PR Girl Conquering a Grad School World. An Inititation to the Great Smoky Mountains. June 30, 2012. This summer I am taking a travel writing course with Julie Stansberry and Professor Chris Wohlwend. Throughout the summer we will be traveling to different destinations around Tennessee, and we will capture them through photos and words. How can this road be closed? What does this mean? Does it mean we have to go on more back roads? My stomach can’t handle this any more. Outhouses for the Baptist Church.

PR Girl Conquering a Grad School World. A Historic Victorian Town in the Deep South. July 20, 2012. It was a wet, grey, dreary day that had me wishing I was crawling back in bed and taking a long, summertime nap. But, nothing could have brightened my day more like a grilled cheese with a side of soup. Delta taught me a new word that day. In her brief conversations with us, she would say you’uns, such as You’uns need anything else? Credit: http:/ www.historicrugby.org/. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. You are...

Jack Campbell, seasonal park ranger who has been stationed at Balsam Mountain Campground in the Great Smoky Mountains for 15 years, has stories to tell, stories about moonshiners, plant poachers, animal trappers and marijuana growers. A Wild Conclusion to the Semester | So Verry Stansberry
https://soverrystansberry.wordpress.com/2012/08/01/a-wild-conclusion-to-the-semester
A little bit of this, and a little bit of that. Time Stands Still in Historic Rugby. A Wild Conclusion to the Semester. August 1, 2012. Five travel-writing trips, several hundred miles, hours of conversation and numerous chocolate bars later, we finally experienced the true wild. Yes, we’d seen elk. We’d seen turkey. And we’d seen an indigo bunting. But this time, we really I mean, really captured the true essence of wild. That’s right we really saw the wild. But that doesn’t mean there’s no danger.

A little bit of this, and a little bit of that. Storytelling and Irony in Balsam Mountain. A Wild Conclusion to the Semester. Time Stands Still in Historic Rugby. July 19, 2012. Tags: Harrow Road Cafe. There is this lovely corner of God’s earth which has been intrusted to us. What, as a community, is our first duty with regard to it? But a typhoid epidemic, financial troubles, land title problems and severe winters would gradually bring about the decline of Rugby. Hughes never gave up and still belie...
