Who is Peter Hopkins? Peter Hopkins was born on November 5, 2006 to his proud parents, Anne Park and Matt Hopkins. At 4 months of age, doctors delivered the devastating diagnosis of a Peroxisomal Disorder, and thus began our journey with this horrible disease. Peter passed away on October 24, 2010, just shy of his 4th birthday. We are excited to continue this race as a legacy and tribute to Peter, and we thank you so very much for your support! With much gratitude, Anne Park and Matt Hopkins. Thank You t...

At Druid Hills Preschool we view the curriculum as all the experiences that children are engaged in throughout the day. Purposeful play is at the heart of these experiences and cultivates independent thinking, problem-solving skills, mental flexibility, and complex high-level thought. In our educational practice classroom teachers and resource educators work together to:. Make preparations that express core curriculum goals. Make hypotheses about possible directions activities and projects might take.

The Magical Mischief Maker. Special Needs Parenting and Autism Awareness. Photo of the Day. Anything is Possible if you Dare to Dream. March 14, 2015. It's okay to drop the ball! I always manage to buy school uniforms but apparently I have skipped the necessary dress clothes for the past couple of years. Worse, we've gone through the whole winter, which was a really cold one, and I haven't been shopping once. At least not at stores that sell preteen boys clothes. Here's a perfect example. I recently ...

The Magical Mischief Maker. Special Needs Parenting and Autism Awareness. Photo of the Day. Anything is Possible if you Dare to Dream. March 22, 2015. Just because I like to play with coconuts doesn't mean I'll eat one. . . Having a child with #foodallergies and major #sensoryissues is always a challenge. We've been trying for years to get Taz to expand his food repertoire and have gotten nowhere. Taz hasn't eaten a vegetable is his life, unless you count potato chips and french fries! Fast forward to ag...

The Magical Mischief Maker. Special Needs Parenting and Autism Awareness. Photo of the Day. Anything is Possible if you Dare to Dream. April 2, 2013. FROM ADVERSITY TO DREAMS. This day takes on new meaning each year in our house. Last night I thought this site had been hacked because it was forwarding to a political ad site. Turns out there was malicious script that was somehow connected to an Autism article I wrote about or link to. Never a dull moment for us. Which brings me back to Taz. He has str...
