Read, Knit and Weave. Books I read, my knitting and weaving. My life in general. Skip to primary content. Skip to secondary content. Confessions of an OCD knitter. February 6, 2015. Still working on the Barndom shawl. I haven’t done anything with it for four days. Aside from one minor rant over the instructions — Yo, West! 8220;k until 2 before marker, k2” is K TO MARKER! 8212; I’ve been knitting along, happy as an annoyed clam. So now I have to look at the options: A) fudge it or B) rip it back. WARNING...

A consciously happy and homegrown life. Summer Love: Summer Reading Bingo, StashDash2015, Ukulele and Art. August 7, 2015. Being a teacher definitely has its benefits. Though I certainly have work to do to prepare for the next year, the summer gives me an excuse to plunge headlong into all of the things I love. The 3 of us on the trail. Leo and his cousin Lucas. My sister on Mt. Hood. William holding up the rock for his brother. Alice not really falling off the mountain. I had finished the main knitting,...

Wednesday, March 10, 2010. The Most Adorable Project. Yesterday evening I finished the Baby Alligator Scarf and it is so cute! I love how it came out. I'd bought the kit (kit = pattern 1 skein of yarn) from Morehouse Farms. And the project went very well! It was an easy knit. But I did get help from one of the experienced ladies at KAB, who helped me make "crochet puff" eyeballs, and I just threaded some black yarn in for the center portion. I absolutely love it. I did tell Jason a year or so ago "hey th...

Thursday, June 26, 2014. What's On My Needles. Earlier in the week, a friend asked me "So, what's on your needles? And it occurred to me that now I am no longer in the shop, it's not something I talk about NEARLY as much as I once did. And you know what? So while I have never been a huge fan of posting my works in progress (because I am afraid that you might ask me about projects that I long ago abandoned and make me feel guilty about it.). In fairly comparable colours. (Or at least I think so! But in th...

My little corner of the world: March 2011
http://ooopretties.blogspot.com/2011_03_01_archive.html
My little corner of the world. 13 March, 2011. Not much to report yet on this crazy scheme for the sweater. I have only done a few rows, and so far I think it will work, but it may take a bit before I can really see the overall effect. So I thought that I would do a little post about a new discovery I made when I started this project. I had a specific needle in mind, the addi turbo. Links to this post. 10 March, 2011. Tenacious təˈnā sh əs. I may have to revise my dream of wearing this by April. Wrap and...
