Family life: January 2011
http://tscarlile.blogspot.com/2011_01_01_archive.html
Thursday, January 27, 2011. I have been quite remiss in my efforts to keep up here. Boy is it sooo easy to just leave this alone and forget about it as an unimportant thing. Alas, I have heard from others how they want to see it. so. here I am again. January 27, 2011! One year ago today little Tavia made an entrance into our family via a cold and stormy night. I remember that well as I was shivering cold in the water during labor. What does one year look like? For the newest pics. Where You'll Find Me.

Family life: November 2009
http://tscarlile.blogspot.com/2009_11_01_archive.html
Monday, November 30, 2009. Well, we had our Thanksgiving dinner last night and it was great. I stuffed myself so full that I felt I might not eat again for a long time. I ate dessert a few hours later. We missed the Shelby family and Andrew. Regi and Caroline came over, as well as Tim. Mmmmm Those of you who know med student budgets or island living can appreciate getting 1-1/2 gallons of ice cream! Mmmmm now for leftovers! Lots and Lots of Carliles. Saturday, November 28, 2009. Travis was on the local t...

Family life: January 2014
http://tscarlile.blogspot.com/2014_01_01_archive.html
Friday, January 24, 2014. What made me think of health. This past week has been quite an emotional roller coaster. Travis and I and children traveled down the road from home to my sister's house to visit. We had a good visit and seem to not be bothering the relatives too much, but. I am sure the ladies in the OB/GYN waiting area thought this woman who kept moaning and holding her stomach had some infectious disease or was having contractions! But I have to find a good aerobics DVD. Eat meat, seafood, egg...

Family life: September 2014
http://tscarlile.blogspot.com/2014_09_01_archive.html
Friday, September 26, 2014. A New Adventure, New Chapter. Here it is, 3 am in Alaska. I have not been able to sleep for the many thoughts running rampant in my busy head. So much to do. So little time. Does any of it matter? Since we have enrolled in Advanced Training Institute. A part of Institute of Basic Life Principles. Of course, the proper question is "What does God think of it? What about a good name that is spoken of in the Bible? That is the key. Is my life lined up with Jesus' example? Desire t...

Family life: What happened to us?
http://tscarlile.blogspot.com/2010/07/what-happened-to-us.html
Monday, July 19, 2010. What happened to us? The past few months have been CRAZY! We arrived here in April and promptly caught 34 sicknesses. I may be slightly exaggerating. It could have been only 32. We have been here for 8 years it seems, living in my mother's extra bedroom. Well, it isn't even that. It is my stepdad's. Office which he cleaned out so all 8 bodies could sleep on bunkbeds. And annoy him and make he want to stay away when we were in occupation. To Washington to see relatives and friends.

Family life: Another year... another milestone
http://tscarlile.blogspot.com/2015/04/another-year-another-milestone.html
Thursday, April 9, 2015. Another year. another milestone. I can't believe that one year has come and gone so easily. Simply put: Time Flies! Our littlest guy, born last April, is now one year and newly walking. He is bigger and louder than all the others were at this age. He is also cutting four molars. And the tooth numbing gel is not cutting it. (pun intended). A little riot on two chubby legs. I have learned thankfulness. I have had to deal with the silence of no baby after a long pregnancy and a ...

Family life: April 2010
http://tscarlile.blogspot.com/2010_04_01_archive.html
Wednesday, April 7, 2010. Today marks less than a week until we leave. Bittersweet, but only barely. Mostly sweet. I have dealt with some telling us we are crazy, irresponsible, stupid, and just plain idiots for attending medical school 5,500 miles from home with 5 children. How can we be stupid when we are bettering ourselves, no stagnating here! And for the record, we only had 1 vacation and that was before we came here. We lived for 2 years with no help except that which we already paid back! Have Bab...

Family life: December 2009
http://tscarlile.blogspot.com/2009_12_01_archive.html
Sunday, December 27, 2009. I have just updated the pregnancy. Blog, and figured I better update here also. First, Merry Christmas to everyone! I know, late, but better than never. If you go and read my post on the pregnancy blog from today, you will read about our adventures in pregnancy this past few weeks. Exhausting, but at least we all made it through. ;). Our visit with Shelby family, Shelby elders, and Kalers last weekend was great! Christmas was simple and relaxed. A ham, potatoes, gravy, fres...

Family life: November 2014

Saturday, November 15, 2014. What we were then. T has been a long while since we have been in Dominica as a family. Four and a half years long. Our family has changed and grown and seen different places. This picture is of our family when we had just moved to Trafalgar from Sentaroma. Now we are spending time away from the harsh winters that we had the past two years and loving the sweat-producing, energy-zapping, non-freezing Caribbean. I am not complaining at all. Mommy ignoring the pain and suffering&...

Family life: Eating healthy in a hot and humid country
http://tscarlile.blogspot.com/2014/12/eating-healthy-in-hot-and-humid-country.html
Tuesday, December 23, 2014. Eating healthy in a hot and humid country. We have been eating soup for dinner most nights. Yes, I said soup. No, it isn't cold soup. Hot soup made with lentils or beans, a little bit of rice, veggies, seasonings and something to thicken it. Yes, every night. With some chicken in it every other night. Yes, I am nuts, but that is beside the point! It is the cheapest, easiest, most filling food that we can make to fill all 8 bellies every night. It is mostly healthy. A cheeky bu...
