http://churchgoingagnostic.blogspot.com/2007_11_01_archive.html
Wednesday, November 28, 2007. Some Folk Music that Touched Me. Last night, I was searching in the iTunes music database when I stumbled across one of the most moving and majestic songs I’ve heard in quite a while. It is a song written and performed by Joni Mitchell. Called “Woodstock” from her 1970 album,. Ladies of the Canyon. I came upon a child of God. He was walking along the road. And I asked him where are you going. And this he told me. I'm going on down to Yasgur's farm. A line which alone could i...

Churchgoing Agnostic: Using Jesus as a Guiding Model
http://churchgoingagnostic.blogspot.com/2009/02/using-jesus-as-guiding-model.html
Wednesday, February 11, 2009. Using Jesus as a Guiding Model. In contemplating the most accurate way to describe my own religious affiliation (should I be asked by fellow churchgoers), I have given long thought to one my good friend's approaches of responding according to the primary religious model and/or framework that has shaped one's outlook on life; which for us is the person of Jesus. Why do I gravitate to the former figure while so many gravitate to the latter? I say that is only one understanding...

Wednesday, March 26, 2008. Clintons pastor issues bold statement about recent issues surrounding Rev. Jeremiah Wright. Earlier this afternoon, our local urban talk radio station read what I found to be a very courageous and appropriate statement by Dean J. Snyder. Senior Minister of Foundry United Methodist Church in Washington, D.C. (the church regularly attended by Bill and Hillary Clinton). STATEMENT CONCERNING THE REV. JEREMIAH WRIGHT:. Dean J. Churchgoing Agnostic: Would I be bothered if Jesus didn’t really exist?
http://churchgoingagnostic.blogspot.com/2009/02/would-i-be-bothered-if-jesus-didnt.html
Friday, February 20, 2009. Would I be bothered if Jesus didn’t really exist? I was recently asked the following question in response to one of my recent. 8220;Does it bother you that there is very little evidence that Jesus existed at all? Can we really know for certain as to what any of these individuals have either said or done, considering that it is very likely that none of them ever wrote down or recorded any of their teachings? I don’t place a lot of faith in the accuracy of human memory, and...

Churchgoing Agnostic: At this point in my life
http://churchgoingagnostic.blogspot.com/2009/02/at-this-point-in-my-life.html
Wednesday, February 25, 2009. At this point in my life. I continue to enjoy the exploration and the openness of seeking wisdom wherever it can be found and firmly believe that we can learn something from everyone. I am not as certain in my views as before, but I feel that I am in a more honest place than ever. At times I feel like a restless soul walking on a lonely road, but I am encouraged knowing that I am not alone; that there are other "wrestlers" out there. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Churchgoing Agnostic: November 2008
http://churchgoingagnostic.blogspot.com/2008_11_01_archive.html
Tuesday, November 25, 2008. Will Durant on Religion and Human Longing. Earlier this year, I had a private e-mail correspondence with Mary Jean Irion, a now eighty-something poet and author of the 1968 book, From the Ashes of Christianity. More specifically the volume entitled The Age of Voltaire. But I was intrigued by learning that Will Durant, a very reverent man, was also, by his own definition, an agnostic when it came to the question of "God." In his Dual Autobiography. These church steeples, everyw...

The Vein of Gold: A Journey to Your Creative Heart. The Vein of Gold. It was a very revealin...
