Be Relentless | adinagenn's Blog

Just another WordPress.com site. A Marketing Plan to Envy →. May 19, 2010. Agents are busy people. So if you’re getting the run around — “I haven’t had time to read it yet” or “I just returned from maternity leave” — it’s time to move on. You never know what you can achieve. Unless you’re relentless. The author of three published books, a writer and a journalist, I'm still debating which format I like best. View all posts by adinagenn →. Just another WordPress.com site. Quality, and Yes, Quantity. A Dilemna →. When A Rock Star Pens Your Foreword. May 27, 2010. This you need. It’s the difference between interesting a publisher even for a moment, or winding up in the slush pile. A rock-star-written foreword lends your book cache, giving you the A-lister’s seal of approval. It also goes a long way, marketing-wise. So, how to get started? It may seem like a long shot, but I can tell you first-hand, it works. View all posts by adinagenn →.
Is writing a book torture? | adinagenn's Blog

Just another WordPress.com site. Mixing it up →. Is writing a book torture? June 7, 2010. I get that question a lot. And, if I’m going to answer honestly, the answer is yes, it can be unless you are so blinded by enthusiasm, you can’t wait to get the words out. But like anything else, after the novelty wears off, when you’re charged with the task of writing a book, it can seem overwhelming. The author of three published books, a writer and a journalist, I'm still debating which format I like best. Notify...

Just another WordPress.com site. Monthly Archives: May 2010. May 28, 2010. A friend of mine was really excited. Yet-to-be-published, she’d signed with an agent to prize-winning stars. When attending writer conferences, she’d mention to insiders the name of the agent who represented her, and they’d literally look at her in awe. … Continue reading →. AN ONGOING SAGA ABOUT A MULTITASKING ART INSTRUCTOR AND SOME REALLY INCREDIBLE KIDS! Wednesday, January 22, 2014. In one of my Preschool classes we are learning about famous artists. I like to start off with a story about the artist if I can find one. For our Jackson Pollock lesson I was lucky enough to find a copy of Action Jackson. By Joan Greenberg and Sandra Jordan. BUT what amazed me was how hesitant they were! They did not want to make a mess. They wanted things to be neat and orderly. Thanks for s...

AN ONGOING SAGA ABOUT A MULTITASKING ART INSTRUCTOR AND SOME REALLY INCREDIBLE KIDS! Thursday, June 20, 2013. This Spring it was hard to walk anywhere in my neighborhood without seeing. So it was only natural to turn to art as a way to honor the little guys. Of course the 5-6 year old class preferred butterflies. Close enough! Pipe cleaners made great legs, antena, and even proboscises, their tubelike feeding structures! In any event, it was a really fun project and all the insect artists had great time!

AN ONGOING SAGA ABOUT A MULTITASKING ART INSTRUCTOR AND SOME REALLY INCREDIBLE KIDS! Wednesday, March 20, 2013. In my YOUNG AT ART class we read Elmer the Elephant and made elephant masks. Silly teacher that I am, I pre-cut the masks out for the kids and had them color them in. They did a nice job. But you know when the really. When I showed them how to cut eyes out themselves! I gave them a ton of round cardstock, a bunch of kid-friendly scissors, and some oil pastels. And they went MASK CRAZY! Includes...

AN ONGOING SAGA ABOUT A MULTITASKING ART INSTRUCTOR AND SOME REALLY INCREDIBLE KIDS! Wednesday, November 28, 2012. In a previous post. I shared our Face Jug project made from recycled jars and clay. The artists worked really hard on them. They were so incredibly varied and whimsical. Some were a little crazy looking, which is pretty appropriate considering how insane traditional face jugs can be. Here's a few more to share with you all. Face Jugswaiting for their glaze to dry. Still to be painted. Here's...

AN ONGOING SAGA ABOUT A MULTITASKING ART INSTRUCTOR AND SOME REALLY INCREDIBLE KIDS! Saturday, December 21, 2013. Art Around the World at Preschool! So I learned that to keep them really interested. My solution was to break up the classroom into stations! We often read a related book first. In Art Around the World it was often a folk tale. The largest table is the place for the most involved and time-consuming art project. The smaller table is for projects that are somewhat less structured. It's been a b...
