Blog…. you have a blog? | Adopting Judah
http://adoptingjudah.com/2014/02/11/blog-you-have-a-blog
Blog…. you have a blog? On February 11, 2014 • General. Blogging is both freeing and overwhelming for me. I love it and I hate it. OK, I really love it but I hate when I don’t have time to get all my thoughts out and then ideas and topics pile up and pile up in my head until I have this very overwhelming list of things to write about so… I avoid writing at all. Sorry, typing out loud there! More to come later but I thought I’d let you in on what I’ve been up to here. If you’d like t...Not sure if anyone ...
Preteen Parenting | Adopting Judah
http://adoptingjudah.com/2014/03/03/preteen-parenting
On March 3, 2014 • General. We have entered a whole new era of parenting. My husband does a lot of wide eyed shaking his head and I am surprisingly calm and understanding. The preteen years are upon us. AHHHHH! Several of you had asked about Emma and the new haircut experience. So here is a picture of my beauty. Did I know that kids would call her a boy? Yes Did I tell her that? And exactly what she wanted. I pray pray pray it continues! So, we plug forward every day in this new phase of parenting. T...
Our Story | Adopting Judah
http://adoptingjudah.com/our-story
The theme of this Hamstra family is never say never and no we’re not Justin Bieber fans. We have found that no matter what plan we place in our lives, God loves to laugh at us and show His plan that is more than we could ever ask or imagine. Here’s how the newest chapter came about. In this process, Jack’s parents ended up selling us their house so we’d have plenty of room for our family. So, our family was complete and crazy and busy and we just knew this was it for us. Boy, what do we know! While it ca...

The Case of the Missing Eye | Adopting Judah

The Case of the Missing Eye. On July 30, 2013 • General. Oh I sure do hope the boy gets my humor when he grows up and reads the crazy things I write. I’ve had several people ask me to explain the whole new eye process again because it’s confusing and also because some families are thinking of adopting children with anophthalmia (missing eye) or microphthalmia (small eye). We started after he got home by of course having him checked out by our beautiful pediatrician (Hi Amberly! Never go back to India?

The Hamstras: January 2012
http://thehamstras.blogspot.com/2012_01_01_archive.html
Tuesday, January 31, 2012. On January 22nd we got the privilege of going to the Prairie Arts Art show on the campus of our local college. Emma had a piece of her artwork that was featured with several other students from surrounding schools in our area. She was SOOO excited and we were very proud and excited for her. . 8217;” She called and told me that and then said “ya know mom, I really started thinking about that and really, what could man do to us? God is bigger than anyone! Get ready for some da...

Sunday, February 12, 2012. Laila's school in Michigan was picked as one of the charity partners for the Fifth Third Charity Riverbank Run in Grand Rapids, MI this year. So guess who's running. Deciding to do this run made me think back to my blog when we were at CLC last when I had come home and decided to take my sister's exercise class. You can read about it here. Anyway, I basically realized that Laila has to work so hard for everything she does and I can't even motivate myself to exercise! Please kno...
The Díaz Family | Under the Sun
https://benjigates.wordpress.com/2012/07/14/the-diaz-family
Chasing more than smoke. Faces of the Yucatán. The Díaz family is simply hilarious. The same Francisco that speaks with authority and boldness behind the pulpit is the same Francisco that interacts so child-like with his kids. They truly are a family that would be completely content with just themselves. Not many families can truthfully claim that. They just make everyday an adventure. 2 thoughts on “ The Díaz Family. Reading the Bible in 365. In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. December 31, 2012. Well, the final 4 Chapters. KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS. DO we understand the Holiness of the Lord! This is who is on our team every day. He is so Holy there is a name that we cannot even make out of earthly letters to describe how holy he is. And most importantly, the weapon of choice, the weapon that will strike down all the nationswe take for such granted how powerful the Word of God is! Well, no n...
The Hamstras: April 2012
http://thehamstras.blogspot.com/2012_04_01_archive.html
Monday, April 30, 2012. Session Two: Day Nine. I RAN to the van to get the camera when I saw her coming out pushing a walker! Then she hands me this star! It's blurry but it says "Dry All Day." She had a dry diaper all day, went on the potty everytime they put her on and in a deliberate way. Instead of it just being that she happen to be on the potty for 5 min and went, she's sitting down, going fairly quickly and then yelling that she's all done. Another huge step! Sunday, April 29, 2012. Also wanted to...

Visit Jim's blog at:. A Package From Home. November 21, 2009. Today Julian has been home for one year. At this time last year, we were running around trying to get everything ready for him. We were excited and nervous all at the same time. We had no idea what to expect or how things would go once we brought him home. Today on this first Adoption Day, I am grateful for my wonderful husband and my two beautiful children. I am the luckiest woman in the world. January 26, 2009. Below are a few new pictures.
Bringing Kenan Home!
Friday, April 12, 2013. Some days, I still can't believe that we're actually home. But, we did it! The two of us traveled halfway across the world, spent 2.5 weeks away from Asher and Mac, and then traveled 24 hours back across the world with an 18 month old we were just beginning to know. We've had a pretty crazy month. That baby lost his hand! So, now I'll move on to everyone's favorite part of the blog- pictures! Monday, April 1, 2013. Our last full day in China!
