We're working in a visual medium- so here are a few films I'd recommend you watch, both for the story as written AND the visuals. 1 CITIZEN KANE -1940 Orson Welles (Amazon $15.99). Watch it once as a movie (and give it time- you'll get into it) then again as a comic artist looking at the compositions of every shot. 2 SUNRISE -1927 FW Murnau. 3 CABINET OF DR. CALIGARI (1920). 2 MALTESE FALCON (John Houston 1941). 4 THE USUAL SUSPECTS (1995).

Final grades will reflect the following:. Class participation = 25% of total grade. This would include getting your work uploaded, offering critiques, responding to suggestions. Drawing assignments = 50% of total grade. Effectively implementing suggestions and understanding corrections, completion of TWO fully rendered pages of your graphic novel.
