What is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious life? Return to Santa Cruz. Last Friday, we traveled on a bus through the night to arrive in Santa Cruz Saturday morning. Although I didn’t sleep wonderfully, the trip went well, and it was fun to meet up with the other MCC workers again. Before leaving Cochabamba, we had a few interesting and exciting experiences. In the MCC library I found a book about Latin American history that someone recommended to me called. 8212; and a new book titled.

What is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious life? The strangest food I’ve eaten in Bolivia:. Armadillo. one day when i got home for lunch there was half an armadillo sitting on the fire stove. i was a little hestitant when we started opening up the animal and pulling the meat off its body. although i think it would take me some time to really like it, its juicy unique flavor was interesting to try. Things I encounter on my 20 minute walk into town day:. Working with the wind instruments.

Thoughts from Santa Cruz. Small town girl meets big city bolivia. The nuns on the bus…. Bull;May 10, 2010 • 1 Comment. I ve become used to the fact that wherever I go around here, people stare. Mostly little kids, who don t know it s not polite, but really everyone. This can be a little frustrating, because I feel so normal here now. I am very much at home in this city, very familiar with how the micros work, everything is routine, I. Like I fit in. Maybe when I return to Canada I will find it weird that...

Thoughts from Santa Cruz. Small town girl meets big city bolivia. A poem for when the world’s problems are overwhelming. It Helps, Now And Then, To Step Back And Take A Long View. It helps, now and then, to step back and take a long view. The kingdom is not only beyond our efforts,. It is even beyond our vision. We accomplish in our lifetime only a tiny fraction. Of the magnificent enterprise that is God’s work. Nothing we do is complete, which is a way of saying. That the kingdom always lies beyond us.

Thoughts from Santa Cruz. Small town girl meets big city bolivia. This is an interesting article I found about Mennonites in Bolivia. It was written by an MCCer’s dad while he was here visiting this year. (Incidently enough, he had lived in Bolivia years ago, and my host dad knew him well! I thought it did a good job of making some sense of all the different complexities in the Bolivian Colony Mennonite equation. REFLECTIONS ON BOLIVIAN MENNONITE REALITIES. Thoughts from Santa Cruz. Small town girl meets big city bolivia. Seatbelts, english speakers and toilet paper in the toilet. We’ve arrived saftely in Akron for debriefing last night. Its lovely to hear the stories of the other SALTers – such diversity of experiences! It is a little weird to be back though too… in the airport I kept accidently speaking to other people in spanish and getting weird looks. Lots to adjust to. By Kimberlee on July 22, 2010.
