Geezercise: It's Easier The Second (or Third) Time Around
http://geezercise.blogspot.com/2015/07/its-easier-next-time-around.html
Monday, July 27, 2015. It's Easier The Second (or Third) Time Around. We don’t forget what we’ve learned, in the case of those who have years of experience at the gym, and our muscles react far more quickly than they did the first time. That is, the positive changes you’ll see in your body will occur much faster than they occurred the first time you built muscle. January 22, 2016 at 4:58 PM. January 22, 2016 at 4:58 PM. Geezercise: April 2014

Sunday, April 27, 2014. On The Internet, Everybody’s An Expert. The great appeal of the internet is that it allows every moron on the planet to have their say, as opposed to the olden days when an editor — or a group of them — looked over what was submitted to them long and hard before approving material for publishing. The goal of these internet writers, like other trolls, is to provoke rather than to instruct. Friday, April 18, 2014. Trust Food From China? Remember back in the 80s and 90s when JAPAN wa...

Geezercise: July 2014

Wednesday, July 30, 2014. Only those who have lost their best canine or feline companion can know the profound sadness and emptiness accompanying that. Pets are cursed with none of these failings. The house is now empty, yet every morning like clockwork I still awaken at first light to take him for his walk. The first few days I felt adrift, but recognizing I needed a diversion, a new routine, I began running at this hour. Tuesday, July 29, 2014. Mental Illness and Eating Disorders. Geezercise: February 2015

Monday, February 23, 2015. Veggies — Frozen or Fresh? What kind of irresponsible mother does not teach her own kids how to cook? Apparently, millions of ‘em, including my own. Monday, February 9, 2015. What’s Behind The Obsession Of “Getting Huge”? Quite a few guys I have known that had what I considered a spectacular physique ruined it, in my opinion, because of an obsession with size. I saw his obsession as being not much different from people addicted to plastic surgery; they were never satisfied.

Friday, May 30, 2014. The Negative is Actually Quite Positive. Every exercise has two components or movements: the positive. The exertion half of the exercise, such as raising the dumbbell while doing biceps curls, or raising the barbell when performing the bench press, is called the positive. Returning to the starting position is called the negative. The negative is just as essential to shaping the muscle and building the muscle as is the positive. Remember that this is just a NUMBER, and that the added...

Geezercise: Pain In Hands Or Feet
http://geezercise.blogspot.com/2015/06/pain-in-hands-or-feet.html
Monday, June 29, 2015. Pain In Hands Or Feet. I have stated what a mistake it is to "work through the pain” when exercising. Whether running, strength training, swimming laps or whatever, when it hurts, STOP. Stop and think and reevaluate. Most people can’t tell the difference between a temporary pain and an actual injury, so it’s best to take a breather while you figure it out. Warming up no matter what our age, or how often we exercise, is crucial. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). We have tremendous...

Geezercise: Aerobic Weight Training

Wednesday, May 13, 2015. Photo: Age 48, Papaohaku. Hawaii. People will jog, step and spin to exhaustion for the sake of an aerobic high but for some reason never thought to apply the same principal to weight training. Watching people at the gym carry on 10-minute conversations between "sets" complaining how little progress they are making is just is par for the course. Is to rest no more than 30 seconds between sets, or two minutes between exercise changes. Go, go, go. Keep going, Don’t stop. Take contro...

Monday, July 27, 2015. Dear Anti-Vaxxers: Mosquitos And Ticks Are Right Now Vaccinating Your Child. Illogical parents who don’t give a whit about their child or yours have been enlisting their own precious offspring to work out their personal conspiracy issues as they relate to vaccinations against deadly crippling pandemics. These parents are somehow unaware that all summer long their kids are being vaccinated — daily. It's Easier The Second (or Third) Time Around. We don’t forget what we’ve...In my cas...

Saturday, March 28, 2015. HOT OATMEAL COOKIES IN A BOWL. Make it at home using the naked one-minute variety and many of the same ingredients you’d put in Oatmeal Cookies, and a healthy beneficial breakfast will never sound boring again. Put water in a saucepan. Turn on the heat. A handful of chopped walnuts or almonds. A dash of vanilla flavoring and/or almond emulsion. A teaspoon of cinnamon. Toss in a handful of raisins or dried cranberries. And/or a mashed banana. Simmer a couple of minutes. Misleadin...
