Lets Talk about Books: Zero Day
http://howsthebook.blogspot.com/2013/01/zero-day.html
Lets Talk about Books. Review of Books as I read them! Sunday, January 6, 2013. I didn't quite take to the ending and the final solution to the mystery. I thought it was too far fetched and not well thought out. But it did keep me engrossed and this is one of the fastest books that I have read. I would rate it 3/5. And advice you to read it if you want some light reading where you don't need to tax your brains too much. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile.

Kaushal's Pensieve: Fear!
http://pensieveofkv.blogspot.com/2014/04/fear.html
My: Aspirations, Dreams, Desires, Stories, Beliefs, Life! Tuesday, April 1, 2014. People who know me will say that I always try to push the envelope with my fears. I am a firm believer in the adage that if you face your fears, it will only make you grow stronger. There is in fact a poster on my office wall that says "Always do what you are afraid to do". Over the last few days, however, I have come to realise that there is another kind of fear that is much stronger and much more difficult to overcome.

Lets Talk about Books: December 2012
http://howsthebook.blogspot.com/2012_12_01_archive.html
Lets Talk about Books. Review of Books as I read them! Thursday, December 6, 2012. History is always written by the winner, never the vanquished. Songs are written about the goodness and valour of the victor and cruelty and cowardice of the vanquished. One never gets to hear the story from the losers point of view, especially in mythology. There is no evidence left to unearth and no witnesses alive to validate the story. Was Ravana truly the evil incarnate? Or did he have his story as well? Asura' promis...

Lets Talk about Books: March 2011
http://howsthebook.blogspot.com/2011_03_01_archive.html
Lets Talk about Books. Review of Books as I read them! Saturday, March 26, 2011. Only Time Will Tell. If you are a voracious reader like I am then you've grown up on Jeffrey Archer's books after graduating from Enid Blyton's and Hardy Boys. From his first book - Not a penny more Not a penny less - published in 1976, Lord Jeffrey Archer has enthralled readers with his stories based in England and US. Harry's mother is the epitome of. I would give it a 4/5. Monday, March 7, 2011. CPT Technologies (literall...

Lets Talk about Books: February 2011
http://howsthebook.blogspot.com/2011_02_01_archive.html
Lets Talk about Books. Review of Books as I read them! Thursday, February 17, 2011. I have a theory or rather an equation - the fabulousness of a book is inversely proportional to the time taken to read it. The lesser the time taken to read the book, the more fabulous it is and vice-versa. I took all of three days to finish 'Firstborn' but then again I am a huge fan of sci-fi and I consider Arthur C Clarke as my guru. In "Sunstorm" the Firstborns launch a major sunstorm that has the potential to sterilis...

Lets Talk about Books: Raiders from the North
http://howsthebook.blogspot.com/2012/01/raiders-from-north.html
Lets Talk about Books. Review of Books as I read them! Saturday, January 21, 2012. Raiders from the North. Where did they come from? How did they manage to rule over a vast country like India? And why did the Indian population accept their rule? Or did they have a choice at all? Inspite of all this the one thing you take away from the book is to believe in your destiny and strive towards it even in the face of seemingly insurmountable obstacles. Suggest you read it to know more and would rate it 3/5!

Lets Talk about Books: July 2010
http://howsthebook.blogspot.com/2010_07_01_archive.html
Lets Talk about Books. Review of Books as I read them! Friday, July 23, 2010. Eros, Philia, Agape. Asimov set the entire basis for Robots with his Three Laws. He then wrote a brilliant piece of robot work called 'Bicentennial Man' where a Robot with an elastic brain realises that he wants to be free and sets about a path that takes him 200 years to realise that dream. Set in about 90 pages the story takes you through a labyrinth of emotions and you wish for a happy ending. I rate it 3/5. The stories are ...

Lets Talk about Books: Breakfast of Champions
http://howsthebook.blogspot.com/2012/07/breakfast-of-champions.html
Lets Talk about Books. Review of Books as I read them! Wednesday, July 18, 2012. Does it make sense? It didn't to me and I struggled to find some sense of purpose in the book. Sad to say, I was unsuccessful. The books is peppered with drawings of tangential things to the story as if Vonnegut just wanted to draw something at that moment and so did it. These drawings have little or no connection to the story in itself. You could check out some other reviews here. To get a counterpoint. I would rate it 1/5.
