The Grand Journey Home. Mothers Day at Feng Li. Hot springs eau natural. On the way to school. Sunday, June 12, 2005. Taitung, from what we now know, is a sleepy town on the verdant side of Taiwan. The other side of the island we hear is filled with people and industry. The East coast has mountains, trees, hot springs, and even a few beaches. The mountains are a result of volcanoes and the thrust of plate collisions as Taiwan is being heaved out of the ocean. We drove inland up a steep road, but all along the way were formations of coral, that somehow, not so long ago, were under the ocean I suppose. It's hard to imagine! Posted by JAM @ 10:59.
