We only knew that we had about a week and a half to spend there before we had to get on our airplane to fly to Quito. When we crossed the border into Nicaragua it was getting a little bit late in the day. We had heard about a place called Somoto near the border that has a beautiful canyon. Taking a couple of buses we made iot there around dinner time. We checked with the bank the next day.

Saturday, September 22, 2012. En un mapa más grande. We left Lanquin pretty early in the morning which is no big deal for us as Nev is usually up at around 6 am. Our plan was to head to Guatemala City so we could catch an international bus to El Salvador. I found a place in a residential part of Guatemala City that was near a big park and zoo. It ended up being a bit of a pain since we were pretty isolated from any resources we needed such as banks and laundry. In the evening we did head over to the zoo.

Monday, November 14, 2011. He is getting better at staying with the group and participating but it is a struggle. His favorite thing at first was the ball pit but now his confidence is growing so he is climbing and jumping on things more. I think I will keep him in the class for a bit but I am hoping to find a regular play group for him too. Links to this post. Monday, November 7, 2011. We sang Happy Birthday but Nev was eager to taste the cake so we helped Nev blow out his candle and the kids ate cake.

Sunday, March 18, 2012. We took a trip to the Honolulu Zoo a couple of weeks ago. I tried to arrange an outing with the toddler meetup group I am part of but only one other mom and baby showed up. This was OK with me. I like a smaller group over a large one. I feel like I get to know the mom and kid better. 65279; We had a lot of fun! Next time we go we will head for the keiki zoo which has a petting zoo that we did not make it to this time. The zoo also has a nice play area with a playground.
