Adventures in Strange Lands: April 2012

http://adventuresinstrangelands.blogspot.com/2012_04_01_archive.html

Adventures in Strange Lands. Pick Up Lines in Foreign Countries. View my complete profile. Sunday, April 29, 2012. Everyone says that it's a must to go to the Taj Mahal while you're in India. I was skeptical. I have found that usually if you build up your expectations too much, they disappoint. That is not the case with the Taj Mahal. Thursday, April 26, 2012. Pick Up Lines in Foreign Countries. Guy on the street: Heeeeyyy baaabyyyy! Random guy in market: "Madam! While we were riding a camel, "Madam!

Adventures in Strange Lands: March 2012

Adventures in Strange Lands. View my complete profile. Monday, March 12, 2012. A friend of mine and I went to the boys' home where she volunteers to "play color" on Holi. For those of you who have not seen the result of Holi, the point is to throw both powdered and wet color at each other until you run out. It was 25 young boys versus the 5-6 adult volunteers. It was insane and one of the best experiences I've had in India. The only downside? Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Adventures in Strange Lands. View my complete profile. Saturday, April 30, 2011. Three friends of mine and I decided to start a photo club. There are so many beautiful and poignant sights around India, especially Kolkata, that I want to capture before I leave. Above are three favorites that I took. The third was this elderly man sitting outside of his shop making a plastic based rope. Wednesday, April 27, 2011. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Adventures in Strange Lands: May 2008

http://adventuresinstrangelands.blogspot.com/2008_05_01_archive.html

Adventures in Strange Lands. View my complete profile. Monday, May 26, 2008. My little sister asked me to describe some of the buildings in the city, since they're different from the States. I have to add a little bit of context here. Turkmenistan had a Head of State for over ten years, President for Life Niyazov, who had a very particular idea of what the city and Turkmenistan should look like. He built many, many monuments and specific, grand buildings. Saturday, May 24, 2008. When a shirt grabbed my e...

And There Goes Another One. July 8, 2013. 8220;Little Edie”. My God I never thought I’d be back here in blogging purgatory. I had finally completed all my obligations for the 10-week challenge, not that I had anything monumentally important to say in the first place anyway. However at 3:48am this morning all that changed ’cause here I am in the dark pouring my heart out on my trusty iPhone. So on to the blogging… olé!
