Local Events and Attractions. My name is Chelsea. I'm married to a great guy named Ryan, and I'm a mama to the cutest kid ever named Bennett. This blog started out as an assignment for an editorial writing class I was taking while earning my journalism degree. At the time I only intended to use the blog for the assignment, but after writing several posts I realized how much. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). My name is Chelsea. Local Events and Attractions. September 26, 2016. Words and photos by Ryan. Dogpatch Arcade is a world of endless Skeeball and other vintage arcade games. Located on the Bagnell Dam Strip, it is one of the last true arcades in the Lake of the Ozarks area. Deal or no Deal. A quick note to those who want to go: bring cash. These machines do not use preloaded “game cards,” but rather, good old fashion quarters. Yes, you will have a ridiculous amount of quarters in your pocket, but there ...If you’ve n...

Local Events and Attractions. August 29, 2013. We spotted this the same day we visited Rebel Arcade (check out that blog post here. This was the first time I had ever seen a Redwood. I thought about marking it off my bucket list, but I really want to see one alive. I guess I could mark it off as my first dead Redwood, maybe? When you visit the Lake of the Ozarks, keep an eye out for the random things just sitting in the background. You may come across something awesome. Lake Ozark, MO 65049. 160; ...

Local Events and Attractions. September 14, 2016. Crystal Cove Bed and Breakfast. Ryan and I have been married for four years now, and I wanted to do something special on our anniversary to celebrate. We just had our first child in April, and in case you didn't know, having a baby changes everything. We love. Crystal Cove was a great experience. We would love to go back and hopefully stay longer than one night. For pricing (which is very reasonable) check out their website. Pizza Night at Millsap Farm.

Ozarks Crescent Mural: June 2014
http://ozarkscrescentmural.blogspot.com/2014_06_01_archive.html
An old building mural inspired a blog devoted to the Ozark Mountains of Missouri and Arkansas. Photo Taken in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. Thursday, June 19, 2014. I bought the two acres across the road. We got to building fast because after four years the lake house, as I call it, has sold. I'm very happy for the new buyers. This is the work in progress. This will be a woodworking shop for John and a little two-story residence at the far end. Then in a bit we'll build a B&B-style log cabin. I've been worki...

An old building mural inspired a blog devoted to the Ozark Mountains of Missouri and Arkansas. Photo Taken in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. Tuesday, July 1, 2014. The next stage after concrete is framing and it's coming along just fine. I'm amazed at how one man can do all of this. The rains that fell over a few weeks have subsided. It sure makes it a lot easier to get things done. I loved that rain though. It was beautiful and cooled things down. So excited about everything! Links to this post. There are fi...

An old building mural inspired a blog devoted to the Ozark Mountains of Missouri and Arkansas. Photo Taken in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. Wednesday, November 26, 2014. Not often. And it's free. I'd taken pictures of the Peel Ferry before, but I never got around to posting them. I know I don't see it show up in my list of Tags or in the Search Box. It's nice when another time comes around to do things you wanted to do before. The ferry approaches our side. Out in the water. We had a good conversation with t...

An old building mural inspired a blog devoted to the Ozark Mountains of Missouri and Arkansas. Photo Taken in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. Tuesday, December 16, 2014. I've been meaning to post about the roof, but I've been slacking. The color is rustic. I love metal roofs and here's a pic. The white in the shop are skylight panels and I must admit I like their look much better from the inside than the outside. Links to this post. Ozarks Crescent Mural Cape Fair, MO 65624, USA. An old building mural inspired a blog devoted to the Ozark Mountains of Missouri and Arkansas. Photo Taken in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. Monday, January 5, 2015. First Snow and New Additions. We finally had our first snow yesterday and it didn't consist of much accumulation, but it sure was pretty falling. You can really see the snowflakes much clearer in this one. This is what most days this winter have looked like. The woods above and Table Rock Lake below. It's a new year. Happy New Year! May all you d...

An old building mural inspired a blog devoted to the Ozark Mountains of Missouri and Arkansas. Photo Taken in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. Monday, October 20, 2014. I'm very excited about this post. When John was doing the rafters over the house, I was thrilled. I just loved the way they looked when I'd drive to and from work. There's going to be cathedral ceilings over the house. There's a loft too. See the pretty trees that surround. This will go out to a balcony. The walk up the drive. There are five uni...

An old building mural inspired a blog devoted to the Ozark Mountains of Missouri and Arkansas. Photo Taken in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. Wednesday, August 27, 2014. The trusses are up over the shop. Where the tractor is sitting is nice and level. There were huge piles of dirt there. Now it's ready for a patio. The mailbox is down the lane. I love the cedar log. It's so pretty and reflects my style. We chose a huge mailbox because I love to shop online. As I put it, "I like happy mail.". I never would've g...
