http://trailzombie100.blogspot.com/2016_07_01_archive.html
Friday, July 22, 2016. Last Saturday the Osage Hills Relatively Flat Trail Marathon, Half Marathon, 10k, 5k went off almost flawlessly despite 96 degree heat and 107 heat indexes. We had a huge increase in runners fur in part to adding the 10k. Like last year, runners sampled Sand Creek Falls. Ample opportunity was given for foot soaking, and a few did just that on their second and third loop. After leaving the falls, a short climb led to the sign. Jodee and Candy were up to some shenanigans. We joined t...

....miles to go before I sleep....: January 1
http://trailzombie100.blogspot.com/2017/01/january-1.html
Monday, January 2, 2017. First post of the new year. I slept in, missed the Polar Bear Plunge cuz I slept in, but took the pups to run. I'm thinking of setting a lofty mileage goal for the year- 2017 miles maybe? I ended with 1321 for 2016 which was a little short of my vision for the year. But the one thing that was good is that while I set modest race goals, I finished what I started. We did a little loop on the blue trail, and then took on some of the Ho-Chi. A third goal for the year is losing my hol...

....miles to go before I sleep....: TATUR Christmas Party Recap
http://trailzombie100.blogspot.com/2016/12/tatur-christmas-party-recap.html
Sunday, December 18, 2016. TATUR Christmas Party Recap. The 11th year of TATUR brought the 11th TATUR Christmas party. This year we had it at the Westside YMCA- why didn't we think of that before? Dana supplied slice ham, Turkey, and rolls. Everyone else brought potluck offerings, and it was good eating. I sampled a couple of vegan dishes that were outstanding. But I canceled that with seconds and thirds of ham and pecan pie. (The pie has eggs- I saw it being cooked.). The first presentation was to the O...

....miles to go before I sleep....: November 2015
http://trailzombie100.blogspot.com/2015_11_01_archive.html
Sunday, November 29, 2015. Short post with a purpose. A short post with purpose. Three purposes to be exact. I hooked it up, and it worked- but it worked SO SLOW! V It was like having an iPhone out in BFI with only the edge network for a signal. So I bugged my buddy Jeff again, who agreed to come over to look at it. On a whim, I went back to Best Buy and bought a new speedy wireless router, and a new ethernet cable- took them home and hooked 'em up, and BAZINGA! It worked so super fast! 3 I am super sick...

Monday, September 26, 2016. RunnersWorld Tulsa's Urban Adventure. Picture by Thomas Gibson. This year the race was moved to late September so you'd THINK it'd be cooler. Wrong! Still, there was a great turnout despite forecasted upper 90s, and then a strong chance of heavy rain. Mitch was my partner in crime last year, and we were the last two in. This year, I actually trained a little and wanted to finish in 30 hours. Picture by Clint Green. We started at 7:00 am, and I settled into a steady pace. Loop ...

Saturday, August 6, 2016. Dana's birthday is July 29, and mine is July 27. We try to take a trip/vacation around our birthdays, and this year I talked her into the mountains instead of a beach! I made reservations for a cabin NE of Durango, and planned a few things for us to do and allowed a lot of relaxation time. We left out at 6:30 am, which is early for us. The plan was to drive to raton across the great state and panhandle of Oklahoma. Day 2 The Highway of Legends. This is one of my favorite picture...

Saturday, December 26, 2015. Christmas in the Ouachitas. Friday (Christmas day) I had all the Christmas festivities behind me, so a couple of friends and I headed to the Ouachitas for a bit of trail running. Burning off a few calories is a good thing. Burning them off here gave us a chance to preview the area for the upcoming. 50K/25 that happens January 16. So after a group selfie- we were off. It's fair to say this trail is technical in places. Within the first .4 miles, we three dry creek bed ...No pr...

Saturday, February 20, 2016. Robber's Cave State Park. Fifteen TATURs and friends of TATURs made a 2 hour drive to Robber's Cave State Park to run trailz Saturday. This is a great area to hike, camp, run, and explore. Like running on a carpeted forest floor and beneath towering pines? This is your place. We stopped for pictures and breathers every mile or so. We ran along the shores of Lake Carlton which was trail heaven. This was one of the runnable sections. Our group[ would get spread out and spee...
