Freezer Apple Pie Filling. 5 - 9 inch pies. 24 cups thinly sliced apples. 3 tablespoons lemon juice. 2 ¼ cups white sugar. 2 ¼ cups brown sugar. 4 teaspoons ground cinnamon. 189; teaspoon ground nutmeg. Stir well, and bring to a boil. Boil for 2 minutes, stirring constantly. Drain and add apples and return to a boil. Reduce heat, cover and simmer until apples are tender, about 6 to 8 minutes.
