Remember, the conditions in the pictures always look much more benign than they feel on the boat. The results of the (unofficial) Indian Ocean Beard Growing Contest - some wild, harry animals for sure! We rented a car for a 2 day, do-it-yourself Safari and had a blast! We break for Dung Beatles. Adventures of Zach and Cody. Saturday, February 23, 2008. Zach and Clive helping pull a canoe full of gravel off a sand bar. Sailing ¨ulu¨ at sunset. Spotted eagle ray comes over to say hello. Kuna kids playing in their canoe (aka. ¨ulu¨). The sea is full of dangerous creatures. The islands are full of strage animals. You never know what might wash ashore. Zach, Cody and Doug after a great snorkle. Cody on the lookout for hidden reefs! Ahh, the sweet nectar of the Kuna gods. The begining of a canoe.

Adventures of Zach and Cody. Sunday, March 22, 2009. New Caledonia's all out of order. Really it's before Australia. Tuesday, March 17, 2009. Reunion (another place we'd never even heard of before we began this trip) has quaint villages, lots of waterfalls, cows that still wear cow bells, good wine, a volcano and incredible, intense hiking. If only we spoke more French. Still with a view of the ocean! Relaxing at the top of the second highest peak. Zach examines a Sun Fish that the local fishermen caught.
