Adventures with the Georges!: December 2013

http://www.adventureswithgeorges.blogspot.com/2013_12_01_archive.html

Adventures with the Georges! Tuesday, December 31, 2013. And a Happy New Year! This new Year's Eve, Matt and I went to work in the Admissions Office like any other day. Then, we came home at 3:30 and took a nap. Haha. :) We were trying to prepare (although I feel it was a hopeless effort) for the Calvary teen All-Nighter! So, we will welcome in the new year playing laser tag and trampoline dodgeball! Then, we heard it again, but this time it was a definite "meow! Thus, we named him Turkey. We are excited...

Adventures with the Georges!: August 2012

http://www.adventureswithgeorges.blogspot.com/2012_08_01_archive.html

Adventures with the Georges! Monday, August 27, 2012. Last October, my dad was complaining about his leg hurting. Thinking it was just a tennis injury, he tried to play through the pain. But when the pain got worse, my dad finally relented and went to the doctor (a very rare occurrence). The doctor thought it was a hematoma (a pool of blood in the muscle), and that it would heal eventually. O God, my joy, You reign above in radiant splendor and beauty. Your Word has drawn my heart to love the awesome sig...

Adventures with the Georges!: One Step Closer

http://www.adventureswithgeorges.blogspot.com/2014/04/one-step-closer.html

Adventures with the Georges! Sunday, April 6, 2014. This spring break Matt and I went on a road trip to Maryland. We did a little sightseeing, went to a day of school, experienced a "snow day" in Maryland, toured some apartments. oh, and Matt signed a contract. A contract that will require us to leave the first and only home of our married life and move to a new land. Mary-land. (Some of the natives have warned me about saying it that way, but sometimes it just slips out! View my complete profile.

Adventures with the Georges!: Truly a George Adventure-- The Outer Banks

http://www.adventureswithgeorges.blogspot.com/2013/05/truly-george-adventure-outer-banks.html

Adventures with the Georges! Friday, May 24, 2013. Truly a George Adventure- The Outer Banks. This past week, Matt and I had the opportunity to join his family on their very first family vacation! So this trip was monumental. And I believe it may become a tradition! Well, that plan went mostly smooth. However, I felt like I was going to be the one to start crying because of the bar that I was sitting on in the backseat. it proved difficult to sleep soundly on the way. Despite the multiple other injuries-...

real life fairytale: we all want to be masters

http://reallifefairytale1988.blogspot.com/2015/04/we-all-want-to-be-masters.html

Words to Live By. We all want to be masters. ANNOUNCEMENT #1: I'm not teaching next year. Literature buffs would say, "The best laid plans of mice and men." (thanks, Robert Burns). Spiritual counselors would say, "Take no thought for tomorrow" (Matthew 5:34) and "God knows the plan He has for you to bring Him glory" (Jeremiah 29:11). I think Jesus just smiled, wrapped me in His arms, and whispered, "Trust me. Take a leap of faith.". You want to know the most amazing thing about all of this? I should be p...

real life fairytale: February 2012

http://reallifefairytale1988.blogspot.com/2012_02_01_archive.html

Words to Live By. My Jesus, Fair. Do you ever despise yourself? I mean, complete and utter disgust with something that you did or didn't do. A regret that seems to haunt your waking and sleeping moments? For me, these moments of despicable agony are often centered around spiritual failure. How could I fail my God. Have you ever been there? My Jesus, Fair. Chris Anderson and Greg Habegger. My Jesus, fair, was pierced by thorns. By thorns grown from the fall. Thus He who gave the curse was torn. The Father...

real life fairytale: October 2012

http://reallifefairytale1988.blogspot.com/2012_10_01_archive.html

Words to Live By. Yesterday morning I intended to serenade my junior high girls' Sunday School class with my miserable excuse of chording talent. I've practiced two or three songs all summer until I felt fairly confident I could accompany the girls' singing. Nothing to terrifying:. I'll Say Yes, Lord, Yes. I Want to Do Thy Will. You know, songs we've sung as a class for months. For twenty minutes I struggled to tune my guitar. Don't let this break." It didn't. My G string did. My heart stoppe...My mother...

Words to Live By. His Eye Is on the Sparrow. Are not five sparrows sold for two farthings, and not one of them is forgotten before God? But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not therefore: ye are of more value than many sparrows. Tonight we celebrated my grandmother's life. The once empty chairs were filled with people sharing stories about Grandma Gina. In her nearly 75 years of life, my grandmother impacted so many people for Christ! Then, the service began. With shaking, sweaty h...

real life fairytale: this crazy thing called life

http://reallifefairytale1988.blogspot.com/2015/04/this-crazy-thing-called-life.html

Words to Live By. This crazy thing called life. Wow To say, "it's been a while" would be rather an understatement. Knowing that I have only a few readers (or none at all) let me do a quick summary of my life since the fall of 2013. January 2014- I directed my absolute favorite Shakespearean play, Twelfth Night. My students did a fabulous job performing. So proud of them. March 2014- started writing my own theatrical adaptation to The Wizard of Oz. Called No Place Like Home. May 2014- Senior Trip: Take 2!

real life fairytale: September 2013

http://reallifefairytale1988.blogspot.com/2013_09_01_archive.html

Words to Live By. As a language arts teacher I am constantly encouraging my students to look for inspiration in the world around them. Of course, my pubescent students generally respond to my enthusiastic encouragements with blank stares, but, nonetheless, I encourage them to be inspired. So where does inspiration come from? As a lover of language and the arts, my immediate response is EVERYWHERE! I will never forget 9-11-01. Why did the whole room feel so sombre? America had been attacked. Today, I pray...

real life fairytale: They Said It

http://reallifefairytale1988.blogspot.com/p/they-said-it.html

Words to Live By. I love collecting quotes, don't you? The only problem is I usually write witty quotes I'd like to remember down on scrap pieces of paper. Pointless habit, don't you think? Since I love sharing things with you and because this is a place where I store my thoughts, I hope you enjoy reading everything that "they" said. These guys are famous for saying things we quote all the time! Coincedence are litte miracles where God chooses to remain anonymous. To All My Dear Children, 1687. Your atti...

real life fairytale: May 2012

http://reallifefairytale1988.blogspot.com/2012_05_01_archive.html

Words to Live By. Personal devotions have always been a struggle for me. Each time I pull out my Bible, my mind races with excuses: I lack focus. I fail. I dont know what to study. Im tired. I become enslaved by the daunting task that seems impossible to me. And it is. How can I, a sinful, depraved being, possible hope for a vibrant, intimate relationship with God? On my own, I cant. This week I had the wonderful opportunity to guest-post on a friend's blog. Noah's blog, The Student Center. Believe it or...

Adventures with G and T. Wednesday, November 9, 2016. Hands up - who makes their own muesli? Good on you, those who put their hands up! You can sit down and have a cuppa. The rest of you - read on! Homemade muesli has got to be the easiest-peasiest thing ever! It requires - shopping and mixing. Absolutely no cooking required. It is good for you too. And you can customise it to your own tastes. This is what I do. Start with a big base of rolled oats. Organic if you like. About 8 cups worth. I use rice bran.

Adventures with Gastroparesis

On July 20, 2014. I haven’t written in awhile because I have taken some time to once again focus on myself. I’m beginning to find that it is important to once and awhile give yourself a time out to focus on yourself. It seems that I appreciate this even more since battling Gastroparesis. But I am living proof that it CAN get better. So keep your chin up and keep fighting, because there are better days ahead! Love you all and thanks for following this blog, even though I took another hiatus! So you hear a...

Sunday, November 30, 2014. I do love pinterest. This is were the information for this project came from:. Http:/ tatertotsandjello.com/2013/10/pottery-barn-christmas-mirror-knock-project.html. I would reference this for the font styles for your silhouette cameo. I started at the thrift store to get some frames.
