Adventures with Packraft: Alpacka Cargo Fly
http://www.adventureswithpackraft.blogspot.com/2013/02/alpaca-cargo-fly.html
Feb 5, 2013. Well, Kirk went and shipped his boat back to Alpacka to have their new Cargo Fly. The Cargo Fly is an airtight, waterproof zipper system in the stern of the boat. Opening this zipper allows access to the inside of the tubes to store your gear. With careful planning, everything can now go inside your raft rather than strapped on the bow in a pack. Stay tuned for the details. February 16, 2013 at 12:42 AM. Thanks for share . March 20, 2013 at 8:46 PM. That seems strange. Results? Thanks for yo...
Adventures with Packraft: Continental Divide Trail 2015
http://www.adventureswithpackraft.blogspot.com/2014/11/continental-divide-trail-2015.html
Nov 8, 2014. Continental Divide Trail 2015. I've been writing more on my other blog. Lately.this winter I'm preparing for a northbound thru-hike of the Continental Divide Trail. This hike will complete my triple crown of long distance trails in the U.S. and, more importantly, give me the chance to disappear into the wilderness for about 5 months. Can't wait! I hope to do a lot of boating this winter, but many of my trips will be on two feet.like last weekend in the Ochoco Mountains near Bend:. Oregon - S...
Adventures with Packraft: Outfitting the boats
http://www.adventureswithpackraft.blogspot.com/2012/09/outfitting-boats_10.html
Sep 10, 2012. Since getting our packrafts this spring, we have slowly been outfitting our boats with extra tie-down points and most recently, gluing on d-rings to install thigh straps in my boat. The thigh straps will not only making carrying a fully loaded boat easier, but also will help become more in-tune with the water so I can to move around rivers and rapids with much more control. Sothe steps for installing a d-ring, tie-down or patch. First we measured where the d-rings would go. The last step is...

May 31, 2014. Steamboat Creek: rocks, rapids and sweat - Day 2. We woke scratching bites, courtesy of all the tiny little gnats that I hadn't realized were dining on us the evening before. I'm quite pleased we brought our double rainbow tent instead of a tarp. The night was warm, the sleeping bags used as a quilts, and the day held the promise of adventure. Part of the right channel.it broke off into a few little side channels like this. The main right channel rapid ahead. Island on the left. We hopped i...
Adventures with Packraft: April 2014
http://www.adventureswithpackraft.blogspot.com/2014_04_01_archive.html
Apr 21, 2014. North Fork of the Middle Fork of the Willamette. I got the cargo fly. Installed on my boat. Eager to use it for the first time, I packed both drybags full, Kirk and I loaded up the car, met some friends and headed to the North Fork of the Middle Fork of the Wilamette. Not the Class V Miracle Mile, but the Class III run below the gorge). You may remember our trip here two years ago; it was the site of my first swim. There were several Class III rapids that I had avoided last time, but I was ...

Adventures With Paint
Learning new ways to play with paint every day! Sunday, April 5, 2015. So we are still a class of Three! My friend, Rebecca, couldn't make it after all. Her work schedule just keeps changing. But, again, it's fine with me, this class of three! As you can see, we worked on landscapes. It's kind of hard, knowing that we just have 4 classes to teach as much as they can absorb, so that they will want to continue. Who knows - they might decide to do another 4 classes. Such a fun group! Thursday, March 26, 2015.

It was my very own message in a bottle! But wait, there was more.Brian picked me out the coolest scarf/necklace and earrings to match. Thanks guys, I loved everything! I want...
