No Victory Without Suffering. 그의 사고 방식/유용하지 않은 생각. 한민족 순혈주의에 대한 의심. 요즘 일하느라 안그래도 책 읽을 시간이 적어서 사놓은 책도 다 못보고 있는데다가 더 부족하게 되었지만, 그래도 새 책이 나오면 관심이 가는 것이 사실이다. 거의 어지간해서는 (국제)정치학 쪽으로 집중해서 책을 읽는 편이지만, 특별히 그 쪽만을 고수하지는 않는다. 신문을 보다가 우연히 알게된 이 책의 내용을 보며 한때 혼자 꿍하게 생각하던 상념이 생각났다. 그것은 바로 우리 민족이 정말 '한(韓)민족'이라는 존재인가 하는 의문이 그것이다. 우리가 시조라고 여기고 있는 단군신화도 명백히 동이족이라고 보기 힘든 점이 한두가지가 아니다. 단군신화의 환인 자체가 유목민의 성격을 띤 존재(하늘은 북쪽을 의미하며 북방민족이 남하한 것을 의미한다.)이니 몽골이나 만주/연해주 쪽에서 도래했을 가능성이 높으니, 유목민의 특성상 단번에 한민족이라는 정체성에 위기가 발생한다. 이 대거 뒤섞였다....
