Daisy Hill Weaving Studio: December 2013
http://jennybellairs.blogspot.com/2013_12_01_archive.html
The studio is located outside the beautiful town of Charlevoix, Michigan, about one mile from Lake Michigan and Lake Charlevoix. Tuesday, December 31, 2013. Every year my girls and daughters-in-law get kitchen towels from me for Christmas. Carolyn's towel was first. The colors she chose were light orange, red, green and yellow. The yarns used were 8/2 cotton. This towel is for my DIL Rebecca. She wasn't here to pick her colors, but she loves anything blue, so my daughters and I picked for her. I ...As I ...

The studio is located outside the beautiful town of Charlevoix, Michigan, about one mile from Lake Michigan and Lake Charlevoix. Thursday, March 20, 2014. Should Towels Be Hemmed Before or After Washing? Regarding wet-finishing handwoven towels before or after hemming, here is my rationale for doing hemming after washing. Even with washing first, some reed lines may still be faintly visible, as the center towel shows. Part of the wet finishing process is finishing your cloth with a hard press and that is...
Daisy Hill Weaving Studio: November 2014

The studio is located outside the beautiful town of Charlevoix, Michigan, about one mile from Lake Michigan and Lake Charlevoix. Friday, November 21, 2014. A Years Old Project Finally Finished. Several years ago, probably about seven, I decided I wanted to learn how to knit socks. There were so many pretty sock yarns to choose from, so I picked out this pretty Panda Wool bamboo blend yarn, not realizing it wasn't the best choice for an inexperienced knitter. I finally finished the heels and was able to d...

The studio is located outside the beautiful town of Charlevoix, Michigan, about one mile from Lake Michigan and Lake Charlevoix. Thursday, July 11, 2013. Gypsy Rose, the Second Left-Over Bear. Gypsy Rose was finished at the same time I finished Hamish, but because she was a gift, I didn't write about her right away, and then I got sick and didn't have the energy or desire to write. I decided today, that I can't wait any longer. She needs her story told. Hamish is on the left and Gypsy Rose is on the right.
Jacobson SIX: Super Mario Birthday Party
http://jacobsonfive.blogspot.com/2008/05/super-mario-birthday-party.html
Wednesday, May 7, 2008. Super Mario Birthday Party. As, I have mentioned in a previous post, I made these invites on Photoshop and it was a big stress in my life, but they turned out just as I had hoped. When the kids get to the party they will get a Mario or Luigi hat and moustache. This was the most expensive part of the party for me the hats were a little over a dollar each (from Oriental Trading). I just used white felt to make the M or L circles on the hat, which I glued on with fabric glue. Yes, I ...
Jacobson SIX: April 2012
http://jacobsonfive.blogspot.com/2012_04_01_archive.html
Wednesday, April 18, 2012. Isaac wanted a video game party for his birthday back in November (yes, I know I am several months late). I was not feeling inspired, so went with a specific video game, Angry Birds! Isaac decided to invite all the boys from his class, this is the most kids we have ever had at a party and it was crazy! I made bird masks for all the kids. And bird goody bags. The kids had pizza and rootbeer for dinner. Then we played games. . Tuesday, April 17, 2012. Bring in the Clowns. We had...
Jacobson SIX: July 2010
http://jacobsonfive.blogspot.com/2010_07_01_archive.html
Thursday, July 29, 2010. There was more to Bear Worl then just the drive through experience. They also had a petting zoo with deer, ducks, pigs, goats, etc. This deer is only 2 days old. Tanner walking amongst the ducks. Noah chillin with a deer. Sydney playing with the goats. They also had 5 small rides for the kids to enjoy. Sydney just loved the rides. She laughed so hard on them. It makes me very excited for Disneyland in November. My very own bear cub. The three boys after the jello fight. So recent...
Jacobson SIX: December 2010
http://jacobsonfive.blogspot.com/2010_12_01_archive.html
Wednesday, December 22, 2010. The boys had their recital and of course mama (and dad) were really proud. They worked really hard and their hard work really paid off. They complain a lot when I ask them to practice, but in the end (I think) they are glad that they did. Tanner has been taking lessons for 2 years and Isaac for 1 year. They had a lot of fun at the recital because a lot of their friends take from the same teacher. It was fun to see all the kids play. Here is Isaac playing Silent Night. The ki...

A Food Lover's Delight. It's all about food! Recipes from The Food Lover. May 9, 2015. Is a versatile topping for salads, sandwiches, and especially popular on Tex-Mex foods. This recipe was originally posted with my Cowboy Smokehouse Salad with Pulled Smoked Pork. Recipe. It’s a rich and zesty salad dressing for taco salads. Or even a sliced ripe tomato salad. I also use it as a topping on dishes such as fish tacos, chicken enchiladas, and marinated skirt steak fajitas. Photo Credit: Adroit Ideals).
