Thursday, April 21, 2011. I just got done grading one of my classes writing tests and many of them were atrocious. Here's what I keep seeing and what I should address:. The game, party, toy, etc was very funny"- I'd say literally half of my students used the word "funny" to describe something they thought was very fun on the last exam. Using articles for things that can't be counted, names, or plural objects: a waters, a foods, a ice cream, the Andy, etc. Beginning every other sentence with the word "and".
