The Herberts in South Africa. Sunday, January 16, 2011. Food, cars, trinkets- -it's all downtown. I know some of you have worried about what we are eating here in Cape Town. I took a few pictures of this special place where we shop for food so that you can see where to shop when you go downtown Cape Town. They have these great little carts that they call trolleys that just have a basket on top and one on the bottom. They are fun if you aren't buying too much. The Herberts in South Africa. Thursday, April 14, 2011. A Few More Tidbits from the Eastern Cape. I hope you can see that the toys have long handles that allows the boys to push them along on the road. They have made those little wheels out of wire and then just added lots of layers of ideas. They both look like they have something that is supposed to be a license plate. We have seen a few of these toys as we have traveled around, but this is the only time I have had the opportunity to take a good picture.

The Herberts in South Africa. Wednesday, April 28, 2010. Here is our starting point for this blog. This is a great view of the "Mountain" at dusk. This looks like it was taken on an island looking back at land, but actually this is the other side of the bay. Table Mountain faces west almost directly, but there is this little neck of land that juts out opposite it that makes it possible to take this picture. Even though we are sharing a house with Steve and Faith, we had to continue on. Riley and I are more patient and worked hard at our masterpieces, thanks in part to some kits sent to us from Grandma Payne. Others weren't quite so patient. The pumpkins speak for them selves. Alaina wanted to get up with the other kids and open her presents before they went to school, so her hair is looking a bit frazzled in the pictures. She is now a big 4-year-old. A Dora watch from Grandma, just what she had been asking for. She had to reach clear to the bottom. She loved her strawberry birthday cake. She even did the sprinkles all by herself if you can't tell.
