African Violet Society of Queensland (Inc.). HISTORY of the AFRICAN VIOLET SOCIETY OF QUEENSLAND Inc. In the year 1984, after a talk on the Other Gesneriads at a night meeting, members expressed much interest, and it was decided to start a Gesneriad Study Group. The first meeting was held at the home of Mrs B Gardner who is well qualified to lead the discussions. The membership subscribes to the Gloxinian and meetings continue to be held at the homes of the various members. For more information about AVSQ.

Stuff from my life. Saturday, 15 May 2010. Im still working on my bumble bear - here are a few photos - the pattern Im using is nothing like the way this bear will turn out, the body is now striped, cut and sewn together with 2 different fabrics as is the muzzle. Stuff from my life. Wednesday, 22 January 2014. How an anklet caused 2 broken wrists. I landed very heavily on both hands and it hurt a bit (but I saved my bum from a bruise! I rang my husband at work but he couldnt get away for an hour or so - we waited around for him to arrive and by the time he did the pain had dulled a little and I was able to drive home - though by the time I got home I was in tears and couldnt get my seat belt off at all. Im trying out a free pattern by Emma of Emma's Bears - the bear is called Gracie and its a nice easy one to make, so try it out. These are my first ever soaps - I bought a kit off ebay to start out with and to see if I liked it (yeah ok so I did and Im hooked! They are all glycerine clear base - green is lime fragrance oil (FO) the orange one is peach FO and the grassy looking one is lavender essential oil with lavender flowers in it (the grassy looking bits). Thursday, October 28, 2010. Then, last week, the no-longer-young girl suddenly felt compelled to order a couple of petrocosmeas, a couple of streptocarpus, and one African violet.
