A Message from the CEO. NBI is a private, non-profit, pharmaceutical manufacturer of human plasma-derived medicinal products. The company's manufacturing site and head office are located in Pinetown, KwaZulu-Natal. Our range of pharmaceutical products includes clotting factors, immunoglobulins, albumin solutions and solvent detergent treated dried plasma. Several of our products are listed in the South African Essential Medicines List as well as the World Health Organisation's Essential Drug List.

A Message from the CEO. The History of NBI. Originally earmarked for a hospital building, the Natal Fractionation Centre relocated to it's current location in Pinetown in 1979. Originally built to house a mouse colony, this building formed the first administration block of the Natal Bioproducts Institute. The Natal Bioproducts Institute was registered as a separate pharmaceutical from the South African Blood Transfusion Service in 1994. NBI Commitment to Quality. Coagulation Factors (FVIII and FIX).
